The chicken pot pie is just a solid light lunch /snack leaving you satiated. If lucky enough to get one with tons of pearl onions it becomes crave worthy. Coupled with the mash and gravy, I’m happy. Coconut custard 6 out of 10, didn’t pop with flavor but baked well. The ham/bacon quiche 8 out of 10, the buttery everything seasoning crust makes this slice on point. I’ve also had the large salted chocolate chip cookie which is perfect. Here’s the problem… twice a week I go to this place and a $10 pot pie is the right price. This $1 increase to $11 makes me go into rebellion mode as I find it obnoxious and over places just raising prices with justifications that do not apply/smokescreen. It’s officially out of hand. For that I will only go once a week. #harshlove

We stopped by Pacific Beach and wanted to grab a drink and had a little dessert. There’s a pop pie co there and luckily there’s a parking spot right outside their door. We ordered a cup of chai tea and a nice americano, plus a key lime pie. To be honestly, I didn’t like it that much like before. I remember I really enjoyed their pies during pandemic and always ordered some delivery. But this key lime pie, I will say it’s just a regular pie, I think the one we had at The Duke’s is much more delicious. The drinks are also regular ones, nothing special to me.

Pop Pie Co. is the best new addition to Pacific Beach. Perfect for a snack for the beach or a cup of good coffee. Finally I can get all my favorite savory and sweet pies right next to the water! If you're looking for a recommendation, the Curry Pot Pie is by far the best in my opinion, but their quiches are also really delicious. So pumped to have this place in my neighborhood.

The food here is phenomenal. Best pot pie I've ever had.

I'd come back here and eat like 15 of these pies, they are that good. I got the beef one, my wife got the pork and cheese. Both of us were very happy with our choices.

Now, here is the thing... I'm kind of an idiot. My wife tells me I'm an idiot enough that I know this about myself, so maybe a lot of my issue is on me. Okay, fine, I'll take credit for half of the issue being my fault for not paying enough attention at check out, but I'm not taking the brunt here.

These pies come from a case already cooked. The girls who work here don't even have to heat them up. You order, they get put in a bag, you take them and leave with your epic loot and devour them wherever you want.

Easy peasy. Should have been seamless. Sad thing, though, the two girls on duty were standing at the end of the counter chatting when we walked in and never even looked up. Not even a perfunctory hello, how can we help you? Not even a long suffering sigh. Just completely ignored us. We stood there waiting for a few minutes, then finally someone was forced to help us.

I say forced because the task obviously annoyed her. She only came to the register because she had to clock in from break. Maybe she was annoyed that she was bombarded right when she was coming back from break when two of her coworkers were standing around talking and doing nothing rather than being annoyed at us, but since we were the ones at the register the annoyance felt directed at us. Lets get real, it was probably at us for having the audacity to want to eat.

Thing is, on the register the tip starts HIGH and just goes higher. I always panic tip, even if I should zero it out because the service wasn't tip worthy. I tipped about $10 to be ignored. $10 dollars would be a pretty damn high tip for excellent service that didn't involve taking an already cooked pie from a case and putting it into a bag. Ten bucks to be treated like an annoyance? Like I'm in high school again! Yikes. Like I said, my fault for not paying attention.. but I'd be less annoyed and shrug it off as holiday cheer if they had been nice.

Moral of the story: Great food, just make sure you watch your tipping fingers and don't...

I’ve been going to Pop Pie since the first location opened in San Diego. I’ve been a fan and have never really had a problem. I used to go to the north park location where a guy Guillermo worked and honestly, I had always had amazing service. That was up until last night, at around 7:40 I went into this pop pie location on 7/16/24. Oh my god, we were a small group of 4 as we walk in, this girl is doing her lipstick infront of the espresso machine?? She doesn’t acknowledge us or ask us anything until I ask ā€œdo you do samples?ā€ She proceeds to say yes, gives me a sample as my boyfriend and his friend are talking. Then she goes over my head as she is putting her fat oil lip gloss on and asks them ā€œare you guys even getting anythingā€ and my boyfriend kindly replies ā€œno we’re all togetherā€ then she says ā€œokay well you can all order in one what do you want.ā€

My friend and I were so shocked that we left. I’ve never experienced such rude, disrespectful and terrible customer service at this location or any location before. Someone needs to talk to this and let her know to change her attitude, and tell her to do her makeup before she...

The worst customer service! Not worth spending your hard earned money with such horrible service. The husband and I called at 8:05 and asked what desert pies were still available. A woman answered and provided the information and cautioned us that the store would be closing soon at 9pm. I asked if I could order online to which she responded, ā€œif the app still allows you toā€. She didn’t offer to take a phone order. I ordered within 75 seconds of hang up the call. We arrive at 8:34 to be told that our order had been ā€œgiven out because it’s first come first serveā€ and that they tried calling me to let me know….??? I had my phone in my hand the hold time, it never rang, nor was a message left. Not that it would have mattered because if the call was to tell me they gave our pies away, it’s still terrible service. We got a refund but that was the very least they...
