Hello, Iâve been a Rubioâs member for over a decade and never had in issue with the restaurant âuntilâ 2 weeks ago. I ordered online via the Rubioâs app- upon me picking up my online order, a âsenior lead â completely interrogated about my order. Mind you, there was only 1 other customer waiting on his food. In addition to giving this woman my name , I showed her my online receipt via my email AND the Rubioâs app. Get this, I even showed her the last 4 digits of my order number and she still held my food hostage! The âsenior leadâ was so disrespectful to the point that she opened up a system on a laptop called âOSOâ or something that order and looked up my order. What really pissed me off is that my order number was on my online receipt AND on the take out bag-which proves she was abusing her power!! By the time she finally relented and released my food I was beyond upset. I decided in that moment I would contact corporate (who is a joke, by the way). I submitted my grievance 3 times and no call back or acknowledgment via email. Usually Rubioâs will send an email asking âhow did we do?â survey within 24-48 hours. It never came. That confirmed to me that someone purposely tried to intervene from me reporting them. Iâll never go to Mission Valley at 2075 Camino de la Reina (92108) ever again. Iâll go hungry before gambling with my money on another bad experience. The only thing the woman didnât ask me for was my driverâs license. Youâd think she was TSA at an airport! Looking back, I shouldâve asked for a refund , but I was hungry. Once I arrived home, my food was cold from going back in forth , trying to prove who I was. It was completely unacceptable. That woman humiliated me in front of her staff members and the other customer waiting on his food. All I wanted was for corporate to talk to me and hear me out. Maybe even offer me a gift card for my troubles. I would not have submitted a review if they made things right, but they didnât. Iâll tell you what, Rubioâs âtakes care of their ownâ and youâre SOLâd if you try to seek refuge from corporate. Yâall be careful, because depending on âWHOâyou are, you may be treated differently-and not in a good way. I hope this helps someone not waste their hard earned money to a restaurant with unprofessional team leaders . You let me down Rubioâs . Thatâs...
Read moreThis was a second visit to a new-to-us Rubio's location. The first time we went the day before, they messed up our order. We figured they deserved a second chance. We arrived during lunch hour. Customer traffic was heavy but the restaurant wasn't crowdedâthere was plenty of seating. The crew and manager seemed a bit stressed and rushed. However, they were on top of things and kept the line short and moving.
The restaurant seating area is set up quite awkwardly, with a lot of open space between tables, sort of spread out, and some seating areas tucked away or right in the path of the line to the registers. Even more awkward was the salsa and drink bar area. This area was too small for more than one person to fit through at a time. If you have one person getting salsa or lime wedges, and another getting a drink, good luck trying to get to the napkins or silverware. We watched as customers bumped and excuse-me-ed the entire time we had lunch there.
Compared to other locations, this one is a slight step down. The food was on par and the restrooms were clean. The salsa bar was messy and a bit depleted, possibly because it's near impossible to get in there to clean it up or restock it during a busy lunch hour. One of the soda options was out, as it was the day before as well. We brought it to their attention and it was remedied...
