So excited that ultreya has come to OB! Great coffee!!
It’s a very chill coffee shop- A quiet place to read, chat, and yes, quiet enough to do some work or study. there is a cute shop inside too that sells candles, jewelry and some other items.
Ultreya is woman owned too! so huge bonus! There are not many places that give friendly welcoming service. If that’s your thing, then you can get that here. And to top it off when I came in last Dani spoke to me about types of coffee, freshness of the roast, tips on pulling shots on my machine and was just all around helpful and offered future advice if needed. Ultreya already sold me but, that interaction is what will keep me a returning customer for as long as I’m drinking coffee. Someone decided to provide education on their product - which I’m passionate about as a biz owner myself. This makes this owner and shop even more special imo. Speaking of special, not sure if it is ongoing or not, but they have a deal for Free drip with purchase of beans! I have bought their half caff and decaf and espresso roast- All great!
For all you DF peeps: they have macadamia, almond and oat from what I remember! hoping coconut milk becomes popular enough of a request so maybe they will carry that too! But macadamia is delicious too:) I’m gf so couldn’t have these bagels people are raving about, but those and the...
Read moreWhat a great local gem this spot is. I had never been to Ultreya coffee before and I was warmly greeted by the staff upon arrival. They broke down the menu for me and highlighted some best sellers, and I decided to try both a Matcha and a coffee to get a feel for the menu. For matcha, I got an Iced Marigold w/ Macadamia Nut Milk ($7) & the color was such a deep, rich green which I knew was a good sign. It had a strong matcha and citrus taste and was perfectly sweetened. As for coffee, I tried an Iced Peak Season latte ($7) which features blueberry & coco condensed milk paired with espresso. The blueberry flavor shined through but didn't taste artificial, and the coffee was balanced and creamy. I didn't try any food while I was here, but I think I'll need to come back because it looked (and smelled) delicious. I love that it is a woman-owned business and it has a great sense of community. I got to see a glimpse of a lot of regulars that came in and It's always nice to see. Highly recommend checking out Ultreya the next time you're in Ocean Beach (or SDSU as they have a location over there, too!) Quality drinks served by quality folks. Doesn't get...
Read moreWhat a delightful addition to Sunset Cliffs. Truly amazing coffee, delightful women, great atmosphere, cool gifts. I’ve already been back a few times. Would never have believed there was room for another coffee shop, but this one is a super nice one and fits into the vibe and culture here perfectly. Added 1/10. OMG, I love these folks. I came back for a refill after dropping my full cup a half block away. They were kind enough to comp me a refill. AND, as a lifelong habitual cappuccino guy, I decided as part of my new year shift to try new things. The Golden Hill is amazing!!! Cinnamon, mushroom, honey (optional espresso) and other good stuff. It is amazing and…it might help me get off the sweeteners it’s so good (my refill I asked for no honey…next time I’m going to try without the...
