The building and products offered are fine. I shop at Target on Sports Arena Boulevard. I prefer Target to Wal-Mart. But Target has cruelly disregarded the wishes of residents of this neighborhood. It does not care about Ocean Beach. For those who don’t know, a broadly televised public meeting between the Ocean Beach town council and Target representatives revealed the vast majority of attendees did not support Target’s bid for the location, once an antique mall. Given the character of Ocean Beach as a tight-knit, environmentally-focused, low-speed beach town, corporate presence here is minimal. We did our best to resist, and a large portion of the neighborhood continues to picket this location. A large “No Target in Ocean Beach” float was featured in the 2017 Christmas parade down Newport Avenue. I personally flew to Minneapolis to deliver a signed protest poster to Target headquarters. Despite being alone, open, honest, and friendly, not one employee would come down from their office to address our grassroots concerns. We are not silver tongued lawyers or salesmen. We simply wanted to avoid a land grab by this dumpy big box monstrosity from our charismatic beach town, to keep it quaint and picturesque and tourist-friendly. Residents remain very concerned that this deaf giant will spread its apathy into the community. We want to remain connected and kind; this profit-over-people action remains a...
Read moreThe staff is very friendly. And I'm good knowing that the store is smaller and the inventory is not as vast as the larger Targets. But, CHECK YOUR RECEIPT BEFORE LEAVING THAT STORE!!! I've been burned several times by not receiving the sale price advertised! I now take a pic of the sale tag and check my receipt after paying. But they still got me today tho! I forgot to check my receipt at the store. I checked it when I got home and saw that I didn't receive the sale price advertised for an item. So I went back with the receipt and the pic of the sale price. I was expecting a refund on the difference. The employee that I spoke with pointed out that the sale tag was expired by 2 days. When I told him that the tag was still in front of the item on the shelf, he said that it wasn't supposed to still be there...and thats it! He was curtious and all but GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE WOULD OF GIVEN ME THE DIFFERENCE SINCE IT WAS THEIR FAULT! I would of never bought it otherwise! And I would of returned the item but I didn't have it with me and I didn't want to make a 3rd trip back. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR RECEIPT BEFORE LEAVING...
Read moreI went in to return an item that was 6 days past the 14 return day policy and was met with a condescending attitude from the store manager Jose. When I asked Jose if it would be possible to make an exception, he complained and told me that I needed to call customer service. I asked if he was able to call with me from the store and he told me no that I have to call from my cell phone Customer service on the line they told me that it was completely up to Store whether or not they want to take the product back. Not only did Jose still declined to take the product after speaking with the customer service representative but he also went on to try to make an example of me in front of his coworkers. It was able to be returned at another target store and was in perfect condition. This was purchase a pair of headphones that was eventually found. I’m really disappointed in target and especially Jose who really did not carry himself like a leader. It’s really sad when peoples eagles get the best of them and Jose is a perfect example of that at...
