We ate at this place because we got a menu in with our food ads. We were not disappointed. There were 4 small tables inside, and we decided to wait and eat at the restaurant. We had the Beef with black bean sauce and Kung Pao chicken Full Day Specials ($8.45). Each came with about 2 cups of white rice and an egg roll. They were excellent and the portions were substantial. We also had Hot and sour soup ($5.95) and Wonton soup ($5.95) - both good but the hot and sour soup needed more "sour". We also had the Cream cheese wontons (4 pieces) also good. Overall, the food was really tasty, and we'll be back. My advice would be to call in your order so you don't have to wait. For a Tuesday, there was a steady flow of customers while we waited and ate. The food is made fresh (and tastes it). I predict if this place keeps it up, you might have to wait a long time to get your food if you don't pre-order, because it's going to get really busy when people catch on to the great food! Point Loma has needed some good Chinese food for a while -- and this is definitely a great new addition to Point Loma's...
Read moreI ordered take out and I had the orange chicken special and chicken lo mein. The price is good for what you get but the food is sub par. You’re better off going to Panda Express because this food is extremely bland. The orange chicken tasted like it was made from a pre-made frozen bag and the lo mein was just as bad.
Let’s get into details. The orange chicken sauce was runny and tasted like sugar water with like an almost orange soda flavor to it. This has to have been frozen chicken and not fresh because the breading has no texture and there was pockets in between the chicken and the breading which was dry and tough.
The lo mein also tasted like it was made from a frozen meal you get at vons or something. Absolutely no flavor and needs salt. I don’t have much to say about this because it just seems like there was no inspiration behind this meal.
I really don’t understand where the good...
Read moreI tried this place out for the first time last night. I went here due to the fact it was close to me and seemed to have pretty good reviews on Google. I will start off by saying the person who took my order on the phone and the person who gave me my order when I arrived were very nice and professional. They also give really big portions. But as far as the quality goes, this food was extremely subpar and devoid of flavor on every item. My girlfriend and I got the family dinner and nothing was good about it. Everything from the egg rolls and crab puffs to the entrées were extremely bland. I would honestly suggest going to panda express than this place if you are looking for something reasonably tasty. Otherwise if you just want a lot of food and don't mind bad Chinese food than this is your spot. I gave it 2 stars due to them being nice...
