Extremely mediocre
Our favorite local pizza place was closed on Sunday; the other places that we tried had crazy long wait times or didn’t deliver into our ‘hood. Under the circumstances, needing to feed a hungry crowd soon, Extreme seemed our only option.
You know how people talk about different types of pizza crust: thin crust or thick crust or cracker crust? I’m going to describe Extreme pizza’s crust style as tough crust. And, a lot of that tough crust was left on plates by our guests.
The fiasco was even more of a disaster because they messed up the delivery so badly. Given that we live 0.2 miles (4 min) from Extreme Pizza, you might think that at least it would arrive hot. But no! I don’t know where the delivery person was when they called to tell us they were at our door; but they weren’t at our door and their language skills were sufficiently poor that they were unable to communicate with us and they kept hanging up their phone. It was a good ten minutes, maybe more, before things got worked out and the now well cooling pizza arrived.
In summary, I would recommend against ordering pizza from Extreme Pizza. However, if, in extremis, you do need to, order it for pick up and...
Read more😞Unfortunately I did have to drop the stars for this but their regular pizza crust contains eggs. Most of the people who use my restaurant reviews as a go to do so because they are either vegan or some variation of vegetarian. They still have great options for you if you're trying to avoid certain things and the atmosphere is still great service is still great. That being said my original review still works. If you're in soma looking for a slice... This is the best spot. For less than 15$ you can get a good sized draft and two slices. They count it as one slice but they are large slices that get split in half. My go-to is a vegan sausage with regular cheese. They have vegetarian, lacto-vegetarian, and even fully vegan options. The sides come in large portions, the salads come in two sizes and all options are affordable. One of the coolest things about this spot is that they have an extreme sports theme which plays perfectly into my love of the OG tony hawk games. The customer service is on point. The only dark mark is the fountain drinks seem to be busted at the moment but honestly it doesn't even affect the vibe. Seriously......
Read moreThis one is WAY better than the one over in cow hollow. For some reason, the pizza at this location has more dynamic, robust flavors? Big slices, interesting choices. I like the vibe. It has a lot of space to work with (not cow hollow locations fault, which is more."hole in the wall", which is cool, too) so the floor plan spacious, lots of wall bench seating, and a long bar with mounted televisions. Kindof divey, kindof sporty. College-Me and College-Dropout-Me would have looooved getting wasted there during dinner hours, like, 5-9, before moving on to a more alcohol focused establishment, but the Lunch-Break-Me that I am now likes to sit in one of the dimly lit corners, inhaling pizza over a ginger ale and watching the 1 or 2 people sip beer at the bar at 11:30am, and wistfully wonder if I could get away with it, or if my work partner would notice as soon as I get in the work truck..
Anyway. The star rating is because it's a chain restaurant and you can't assume they're all as cool...
