Murphy's Pub — Restaurant in San Francisco

Came here for lunch before work, so no alcohol for me. Nice atmosphere, employees are friendly, especially the bartender. Waitstaff was hit and miss, even for a late lunch crowd. A little inattentive at times. Siting at the bar looked like a better experience. Got the fish and chips. Fish was average size, three pieces for $14. Eh. Well cooked, though, at least. Not overwhelmed by batter like some places, nice and crisp and not overly oily. Good amount of fries. It was a filling meal. Good selection of draft beers, happy hour from 3 to 6 and 11pm to 1am? Whaaa?? Nice. Get good and drunk on the cheap before you go home... but happy hour prices not the cheapest I've seen. Then again this is the financial district... everything seems to be more expensive here. Will give it another shot or two, have to still...

Been 45 minutes and no one around you to ask you for order. I understand that place was busy but 3 tables around you already asked for the order who came after us, that sounds fishy, right? Our table was right in middle of the pub and in front of the bar so we were not invisible at all. We tried raising hands couple of time, people around us started feeling this experience but the just walked by. Oopss! Finally, I had to go tell the guy at bar about it, he replied with "busy" reason and told us someone will be there in a minute. 10 mins, no one. Too bad, right? Finally, we left the place, the girl who was taking people in and bar tender did not even had sorry face. We were tourist here and this was our horrible experience. Too...

My friend and I just wanted a place to grab a drink on our way home and this place happened to be conveniently on the way. Despite the name, we didn't find anything particularly "Irish" about the interior. It's just a well-worn and comfortable bar and the drink prices were right. I got a pint of decent IPA (Goose Island?) for $5, which is a good price, especially having just paid $9 for a pint at Sauce, yeesh. Anyhoo, it's a smallish place but wasn't too loud or crowded so my friend and I were able to easily find a seat and enjoy a nice conversation over a drink. Good to know they have snacks if you're hungry, but we didn't have any food so I can't...
