Read about this in the newspaper today and swung by for an early dinner. Wow, what a find! I was intrigued by the tuna melt, and it is definitely not Mom’s mayo and canned tuna. Wonderfully flavorful, a bit of sauerkraut, and a very stout Acme bread to stand up to the very substantial filling. Had a side of fries, which were real potatoes and were fries. The several fish sandwiches are the stars and you can also get fish and chips.

On second visit, I had the clam chowder and the rockfish sandwich. Unlike the clam chowder I had the day before at another SF establishment, chowder that tasted like warm ice cream with clams, the NOPA Fish chowder was a flavorful broth with fresh trout, shellfish, corn, and potatoes, a truly fresh made and honest bowl. The rockfish is fried and served on a milk toast roll with a vinegary Cole slaw, pickles, a bit of jalapeño, and almost a light tartar sauce. This is unlike any other fish sandwich you have had, not the least because it starts with real fish. Significant serving of fish.

In another couple of weeks, the lines are going to be...

Absolutely loved my experience at Nopa Fish! From start to finish, everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared.

The summer salad was the perfect start—vibrant, crisp, and bursting with seasonal flavors that felt like a plate of sunshine. The fish and chips were outstanding: perfectly golden, light, and flaky with a crunch that made every bite satisfying. And the star of the meal, the rockfish sandwich, was simply incredible—delicate yet packed with flavor, balanced by fresh toppings and a soft, warm bun.

The ambiance was relaxed yet elevated, and the service was warm and attentive without being overbearing. Nopa Fish truly captures the essence of coastal dining with a modern touch. Highly recommend for anyone craving fresh, thoughtfully crafted seafood...

Food really good. Atmosphere, typical for the ferry building, so vibrant Service… God awful; ruined the whole experience.

And here is why I rate the service awful. I was literally putting the last bite of food in my mouth, and a member of staff grabs my plate and my other utensils and my dirty napkins. Doesn’t even wait for me to finish swallowing the last bite or let me wipe my mouth. Then has the audacity to say thanks for dining with us. Please get up. I need the seat. I didn’t even finish chewing, I got told to get up and leave. And there were still two seats on the bench I was on my right.

At least let me take five seconds to swallow the food I paid for before you ask me to stand up.

Since you liked to be rough with customers, I’ll ask for...

🌊 Fresh seafood in the heart of San Francisco’s Ferry Building? Yes please. Nopa Fish just opened its doors in the Financial District of San Francisco and it’s quickly becoming a local favorite. From crispy fish and chips to sustainably caught shrimp that taste like the Pacific itself this spot reminds me why living in San Francisco’s Financial District is so special. ✨ Living in the Financial District San Francisco means more than just high rises and offices. You’re steps away from the Ferry Building Embarcadero waterfront world class restaurants and easy access to BART and Muni. For buyers and sellers homes here range from modern high rise condos to historic lofts with price points often starting in the $800Ks and climbing into the multi millions. 🍴 So whether you’re house hunting or just hungry put Nopa Fish on your list next time you’re in San Francisco. ➡️ Comment “GUIDE” for a free 23 page guide to all my favorite San Francisco spots! 👋 I’m @kevinchoyrealestate your San Francisco neighbor, local firefighter, and real estate advisor. I help San Francisco families and professionals find homes that fit both lifestyle and investment goals.

Fresh fish and appealing menu. Arancini was a little dry and the pesto that came with it had an oxidized color, and dull bitter taste. The fish and chips was good, not the best, but I appreciated the fresh rockfish as opposed to frozen unknown fish at many places. The homemade fries were dry and mealy (like in-and-out). Pickles, yummy. Stand out was the smoked trout latkes. The trout was perfectly smoked, moist, and just the right amount of salt. Seating was tight on the communal tables and the staff, although all very friendly and helpful, kept coming back to clear dishes. After spending $50 per person, I wished we could have enjoyed the meal in peace without getting rushed out.
