This place gave me the single worst dining experience I've had in 30 years in San Francisco. The water glass showed up with lipstick on the rim. No big deal, but I should have taken it as a hint of what was to come. We ordered two dishes. They arrived 10 minutes apart.

By the time the pancakes showed up, the pulled pork eggs benedict were cold and soggy. I don't know what they were thinking when they made that pulled pork, but it was overly sweet BBQ flavored that tasted like a prepared microwave meal from a grocery store. It sat on a soggy tomato and was placed upon the English muffins leaving a wet mess. Inedible.

The mascarpone soufflé pancakes were cloyingly sweet as if made by children for children. I can't imagine that they were prepared right. It was a mess of thin and soggy pancakes alternately stacked with a flavorless egg white layer and covered in sugary slop. Really gross.

The server/hostess was the only positive part of the experience. She handled the situation, not charging us. The owners of this place really need to train the kitchen staff. It feels like they made this Insta-friendly trend spot, made up some dishes, took some photos, left it in the hands of children and disappeared.

Zero...

It is with a heavy heart that I feel I need to warn patrons about the changes to the menu at Raw Sugar Factory. I have been living in SF for over 10 years. I have many fond memories of delicious food. I always ordered the California omelet. That plus the super thin hash brown were a signature for me and rare among the SF brunch circuit. Unfortunately, times change. They have since moved locations (a year ago) and the menu changed a lot. I was there earlier this morning, and boy was I disappointed. I got my usual and i dont think i have been so disgusted with an omlett in my life. I wish this was hyperbole, but alas, it is not. The "meat" in the omelett was ground and had a weird flavor to it. I couldn't put my finger on why, but it was not good. The tomato slices inside were overcooked and down right revolting. I had my partner try to see if I was just insane, but he confirmed it did not taste good. For what it is worth, my partner got a benedict and said it was fine. I for one will not be coming back. RIP...

I came here for my birthday with one of my friends. I was so excited to try it after looking at pictures on yelp and reading great reviews. However, we arrived 30 minutes prior to closing time for lunch. The waitress/ host was arguing with me about which table I could sit at when the entire restaurant was empty other than 1 table! Why does it matter if there are so many seats available that we could all have our own section? So she had an attitude and reminded us that they close in 30 minutes. I said ok, got the menus, she wasn’t friendly at all. Took our order and didn’t check on us until it was just about time for the bill.

The only reason they are getting 4 stars is because the food was delicious, came out fast, it was something I’ve never had before and it was my bday so I was in a forgiving mood. We were so hungry we finished our food in 15 minutes and the other table was still there as well. So they might have stayed an extra 8 minutes past “ closing” and the other table left after us...

Doubt I’ll...

Went here for brunch with a few friends. Fairly busy spot. Fun atmosphere. Pretty big menu overall but we were focused on breakfast. The Good: food was very tasty. Lots of different juices for mimosas. We got lychee. Also includes a couple gummy bears at the bottom which was a nice touch. We shared the TexMex scramble, eggs Benedict, French toast, and Mariscopone souflee pancakes. All of it was very tasty. The eggs Benedict were a tad overcooked and less runny than I like but still overall tasty. TexMex was fantastic. The pancakes were very unique but maybe a bit over hyped. The Bad: Service had a lot of be desired. They weren't even particularly busy but took way too long to even get a cup of water, let alone any refill. Food came out fairly quickly but that was after waiting way too long to even order. The servers were nice but it all just took too long. Overall, still a good experience but I'd probably try new places before going back.
