We were travelling to SF for the weekend and had no dinner plans for Saturday night. We drove by this restaurant on Thursday and saw it was busy so we decided to make a reservation here and try it out. Upon entering we were greeted by the host/owner. He was very nice and sat us down at our table. We got a bottle of prosecco (which we poured ourselves the whole night) and the Bresaola to start. The appetizer was very good. For our meal we had the Fettuccine with shrimp. The shrimp were very small and the sauce with the pasta was quite bland. Was a very mediocre dish. For our main we had the halibut with mushrooms. This was excellent. The fish was cooked well and the mushrooms were great. For dessert we had the Tiramisu. It was good, not exceptional. Once our meal was finished we waited for our bill for a bit. One of the owners/servers was working and running around. The other was talking to another female diner for probably 20-30 minutes. The restaurant is not large so it is a bit frustrating when you are waiting. For our bill of 130$, I paid $150 cash. One of the owners took the bill and when he counted the cash out at the register I could see he was visibly upset with my tip. For where we are from 15% is a good tip and for me that felt like more then enough for the meal we were served This left a bitter taste in my mouth. SF has so many food options and this was a special meal for us, and we left feeling frustrated and...
Read moreThis place truly is wonderful. I never, ever write reviews, but after such a lovely experience, I had to express my gratitude.
My boyfriend and I were in San Francisco for a comedy show, and a Giants game + a holiday weekend made traffic, parking, everything extremely frustrating and nearly impossible. We were inevitably late to our reservation because of the craziness, so my boyfriend dropped me off and went to go find parking. After driving around for at least 20-25 minutes, he called me saying he still couldn't find a spot. So, not only did the owner of Serafina block off a parking spot directly in front of the restaurant, but he poured me a glass of wine while I waited for my boyfriend to come back around. We were seated directly after that, and of course incredible food and amazing service only made our experience there that much better. We didn't end up making it to the comedy show, but our second time at this hidden gem was the shining moment of our night. Thank you to everyone at Serafina for going above and beyond for some travelers like us! We cannot say...
Read moreHomey, authentic Italian spot with delicious food. Came here for dinner on a Sunday evening and made a reservation online beforehand. We ended up adding more people to our group, and they kindly accommodated us by putting our tables together. Our waiters were very friendly and warm. We split various dishes so we got to try a bunch of things. The calamari was grilled and tasted super fresh. The Ceasar salad was simple and also similarly intense in its freshness. The lasagna was my favorite pasta - very warm and comforting. The pappardelle with crab tasted light and the crab was a tad on the saltier side, but it offset the sweetness of the tomatoes. The gnocchi was the table’s favorite. The prosciutto and mushroom pinsa is a good thing to split and is one of the most popular dishes.
We found street parking off on the side. Single occupant restroom available. Indoor and outdoor seating. Credit cards accepted. It’s good for an intimate dinner or for a big group of friends (provided you make a reservation in advance). They sell art and you can view the paintings on the...
