I won’t deny that the sandwiches are good. The ingredients are fresh and top quality, the sandwiches are assembled well and don’t fall apart into a mess, and overall they make a fantastic sandwich.
But I think the prices are outrageous for the quantity of food and the service you get. The spicy Carlo sandwich I got didn’t look anything the pictures from the other ”reviews.” The two guys working there didn’t seem thrilled that I was coming in to spend over $20 on a small sandwich.
As a small business owner in San Francisco, I understand the exorbitant cost of running a business in the city. But I think the Hornet needs to offer something more in order to justify their prices. Maybe throw in a $0.25 snack size bag of chips from Costco or a pickle spear 🤷♂️.
