If you like dessert time. You have to try U:Dessert Story. It is sugar overload and the desserts will shoot your sugar levels through the roof! They are all delicious! Came down at about 8pm on a Friday night and found it to be a sweet spot for the evening as we were seated right away! This was a last minute decision to help cheer up some teens from their summer doldrums so a welcome treat for adults ending a work week and teens looking for a pick me up! We ordered the 5 person value meal which means you pick 5 desserts and 5 beverages from the menu. (Not all drinks/desserts are eligible but the server will let you know!)
From our matcha latte, matcha cake, volcano bingsoo, fired boba brown sugar milk, warabi mochi, strawberry milk tea with boba, chocolate mochi waffle, honey yuzu genmaicha tea, monster toast and blue lychee drink - we were stuffed.
The volcano bingsoo is presented with pizazz! A little liquid smoke and they really make it like a volcano. One of the teens are almost of the whole thing and when I asked if it was any good, there were no words, just a thumbs up. Unfortunately so full they couldn’t finish the boba milk drink! The chocolate mochi waffle is decadent. Pure chocolate goodness and the right consistency of mochi! I wasn’t a big fan of the warabi but the person who ordered it polished it off with no qualms. The monster toast was ok. I’ve tried other places with thick toast that used fresher bread. Our monster toast seemed like it was day old toast so it wasn’t as enjoyable as the other desserts. Lots of chocolate sauce, snickers, ice cream and “stuff” was all over the monster but for me the bread is a deal breaker. Our teen who ordered the matcha cake liked it very much and it was the first dessert that was polished off. The cake is accompanied with some strawberry sauce that also balances out the match flavor. The drinks were decent and no complaints. I enjoyed the blue lychee beverage with the popping-like lychee boba. More surgery goodness in a cup! 🤪😬.
Needless to say…another establishment that kept us hyped up on sugar...
Read moreHonestly love this place. The food is amazing, and the interior is really cute. It’s definitely popular, opens late, and I highly recommend checking it out.
However, I’ve been here twice in the past month and both times I’ve had to ask to be moved to a different table.
The first time, I came with a party of three. They initially sat us at a table for two, assuming we could squeeze two along the bench/wall and one in the chair. Then they sat a couple right next to us—like, I was literally shoulder-to-shoulder with someone and sitting in the gap between the tables. I get that they want to keep the larger tables open for future guests, but it’s hard to enjoy your time when you feel like you have to eat over mid-air. I asked to move to the back (where there’s more space and more tables), and although the employee had to check with a manager, they did let us move—on the condition that we’d share the big table if needed. Later, they did try to sit a couple next to us, but like me, one of the girls asked to be moved to another open table (which clearly fit two people just fine). The staff wasn’t rude at all—they were actually super nice and attentive—but the whole process felt a little awkward.
The second time, I came with a group of five. They pushed two tables together and expected three of us to squeeze along the bench again, but the tables weren’t even. One person would have to sit over the crack which would be very uncomfortable to eat over. I asked again if we could sit in the back or get an extra chair for the aisle. The worker asked a supervisor, and thankfully, they allowed us to move.
Overall, the service is nice, and again, the food is so good—definitely recommend the chicken wings. I also tried the lychee matcha fauxito and it was amazing! Just wish the seating situation didn’t feel so cramped and complicated when there was...
Read moreIf you're craving sweet indulgence, look no further than U Dessert Story. This charming spot offers an enticing selection of treats, but two stole the show for me: the choco truffle cake and the basque burnt cheesecake.
The choco truffle cake was a revelation. Rich, moist chocolate cake layers cradled a silky smooth truffle filling, creating an explosion of flavor in every bite. The chocolate wasn't overly sweet, allowing the natural cocoa notes to shine. It was decadent without being heavy, a perfect balance that left me wanting more.
The basque burnt cheesecake was a textural dream. The top boasted a beautiful caramelized crust, giving way to a luxuriously creamy center. It wasn't overly sweet, but the hint of burnt sugar added a delightful complexity. The cheesecake had a satisfying jiggle when gently shaken, a true testament to its perfect doneness.
U Dessert Story isn't just about the desserts (though they are the stars). The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service is friendly and attentive. It's the perfect place to relax with friends or enjoy a special occasion.
Overall:
If you're looking for top-notch desserts, U Dessert Story is a must-visit. The choco truffle cake and basque burnt cheesecake are both worth a try, and I can't wait to return and explore the rest of their menu.
Highly...
