To all who appreciate beauty and excellent service, A few months ago I walked by S16 and saw in their meticulously merchandised windows (as they always are) a beautiful antique cabinet. I had for about 2 weeks, whenever walking by the store, checked to see if it was still there then on the last walk by, it was no longer in the window. I went to S16 online and saw that it was still available to purchase. As the website offered to do, I made an offer for what I thought was a respectful discount. Very quickly after sending my email/offer, Brian replied. Brian noted that the store was in Sale mode with most items reduced by 20%. He offered to meet me in the middle of my offer and the store's current discount which I felt was acceptable. We made an appointment within the week, Brian accommodating my schedule constraints, for me to actually see the cabinet in person as I had only been able to admire the piece from the window. Upon arriving to the store I had the opportunity to meet Luke, partner at S16. Both Brian and Luke were very welcoming. There in the middle of the store sat the cabinet to be wondered. It was more beautiful in person and clearly cared for by Brian and Luke. They gave me what history they knew on the piece. I explained my want of it over the weeks prior and how I planned to use it unconventional of its original purpose. They shared joy in my creativity then also suggested another creative way to use the cabinet by removing some shelves, a brilliant idea! I asked to have a few hours to step away before committing to purchase it. Brian and Luke again were gracious to hold it. Only a few hours later I contacted Brian to say I would be purchasing it. It was so easy to go S16 online to securely complete my purchase. Brian and I made another appointment for my husband and me to pick up the cabinet. A few days later upon arrival to the store, I discovered Brian and Luke had removed the shelves and placed them in large plastic bins for transport and cellophane wrapped the cabinet for protection. My husband and I had expected to remove the cabinet and shelves from the store but instead Brian and Luke loaded it into our wagon. This was an unexpected service much appreciated. We are enjoying our cabinet and can't thank Brian and Luke enough for being so accommodating, providing the highest level of service, and curating beautiful objects for all of us to enjoy and cherish. We have been consigning with S16 Home for the past 6 years. Aside from being a pleasure to deal with, Brian makes certain that he has all items appraised by an auction house to make sure that the price assigned to the item is accurate. He asks for and posts meticulous descriptions of each piece, so the buyer knows exactly what is being purchased. In addition, he is quite selective about the pieces he is willing to consign. He only takes those items that he feels he can sell and that work well within the context of his own pieces. The store itself is a delight. I've been consigning with Brian and Luke since they opened several years back, and they're incredibly awesome to work with! They're experts in so many areas, have great contacts in the design and film industry, and make my life so much easier than it would be if I had to photograph and then market my own products. The work they perform on my behalf is worth every penny of the commissions they earn from my sales. Not only do I make much more money than I could on my own, but it's fun to have an excuse to stop in regularly and see the other amazing finds in their shop. A true destination...
