My friend and I visited this particular establishment early morning for some breakfast and coffee. Right away we were neglected to have our orders takin or even brought coffee. After about 15 minutes we finally got a cup of coffee, then forgotten about for 45 minutes if not longer, trying to find our server, he had told us someone else would take our orders, followed up by him coming back to our table and telling us that one of them would gladly take our orders, however we would have to pay first, insueing that we were going to, "dine & ditch". My entire 40 years of existence I have never even thought of walking out on any bill at any restaurant I've ever been to. I had asked them if they were going to ask the gentleman to my left and the two gentleman behind me to pay for they're food first like we were being asked to do. However my friend and I sat at our table in amazement and watched the two gentleman that had just walked in the door 5 minutes prior get they're orders taken followed by them receiving they're food within minutes of them placing they're orders, all while my friend and I still went unserved watching the patrons around us enjoy they're food. I in my 40 years of existence have ever been so discriminated against or offended by two individuals. I was always thought to never judge a book by a cover, mind you I'm wearing a brand new 50 dollar 49ers hat a brand new 50 tshirt a pair of brand new 80 dollar Levis along with a brand new pair of 150 dollar Nikes with a 500 dollar North Face jacket, I'm clean cut with my haircut. So as I scratch my head and wonder why I was being discriminated against I'm looking at what I'm wearing and my first impressions of myself is a clean cut very well dressed individual, who used please sir and thank you mam and was very polite and friendly. However after being asked to pay before we ate or continue service I began to be very very offended and began to explain to them the definition of discrimination and the response was nothing more than perfect, in which the first server replied with " if you don't like it I will just call the cops" at this point almost yelling across the restaurant telling me to be quiet and if I don't like it he will call the cops, arguably insisting on getting the last word in as for me could not even respond with him continuely talking louder and over me. I asked who they're manager is and they would not respond again threatening to call the cops. SO IF YOUR THINKING ABOUT EATING AT THIS RESTAURANT, DON'T, SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. AGAIN THIS STAFF WAS EXTREMELY RUDE, OFFENSIVE AND OVERALL...
Read moreOur server musta had a long day. She wasn't very attentive. She seemed to be the only one on the floor. So she walked by us a lot.... I needed coffee creamer, so I went to the register to ask for some. I needed napkins, and eating utensils, so I went and asked for some. I thought I was being helpful, and understanding that she was very busy so I just got up and asked the ther server leaning on the register table... When she came to the table she told us that one cook was leaving and the other was arriving, so "seiso tarugo" and left the orders for the cook coming on... Then she overcharged us. Both my kids ordered the bacon avocado cheese burger 🍔 menu price was $16.49 however, she charged us for a build your own burger 🍔 so we got charged $14.79 for the burger and got charged extra $2.49 each add on for cheese, avocado, and bacon. Then gave me attitude when I confronted her about it. I had them call the manager and she took the ticket from him and "fixed it " she didn't correct the ticket, she used a calculator and told the guy his register was going to be short. There wasn't a wait for the table, but there was a long wait at the table. I like Denny's but this day and location was one of the most unsatisfied experiences...
Read moreI will forget anything but Denny's, for it happens to be the first place I dined in, in my first ever visit to the United States. Thanks to my amazing friend Abhishek, who traveled all the way to San Jose from Mountainview, just to make sure that I don't sleep without eating something.
So, that's how I landed up in Denny's, which I later got to know is one of the famous American diner chain. It certainly resembled the American eateries I used to till date see in American sops. More American was the menu which comprised of a choice of Omelettes, Slams, Pancakes, Muffins, Sausages, Fries, Sandwiches, Burgers, Salads, Steaks and Desserts. We ordered their Signature Diner Roast (Mild) and Ultimate Omellete (without meat as I am a vegetarian). I was certainly in for an American feast, which was certainly not spicy as the Indian food, but Yes, as they say - "When in America, do what Americans Do :) :) " Enjoyed the breakfast at the dinner time, and loved the service, ambiance and hospitality..
A must visit place for...
