I’m vacation in SLO for a night after watching the fireworks at Pismo Beach for the 4th of July. Stopped in around 10pm and the place was fairly busy. I love SLO and visit multiple times a year as I live two hours north in Monterey. I have been to Woodstock many times, including their sister location in Santa Cruz. The pizza is always top notch and they have a good selection of popular craft beer. This location is usually busy every night I’ve been here as it gives the local college kids a place to eat and drink into the wee hours of the morning. That being said, it can get a bit lively as some of the college kids haven’t yet learned to control the volume of their voices after a few beers. To be fair, some of us never learn that skill! So if you’re looking for a nice quiet spot, it’s hit or miss here(most of the kids aren’t able to drink anyway, so it’s just kids being kids.) Sports were playing on the TV’s and if you’re i to watch king someone prepare your food, the kitchen is wide open for scrutiny. As I’ve said, I’ve been coming here for years. They’ve really made a lot of improvements from my first visits. The restrooms used to be down a long hallway, but now they are in the actual restaurant. There are two different rooms to enjoy your dinner. The front room is your typical pizza place restaurant style forum. The ‘backyard’ is more sport-centric with a second bar to order pitchers of whatever beer you want to enjoy. If you’re more an ‘eat under the stars’ type of person, they’ve opened a patio since the (pizza) pan-demic (sorry, not sorry), where you can see the stars and people watch, which is always fun in downtown SLO. If there’s a better pizza place in San Luis Obispo, I’ve yet to find it. I LOVE their sriracha pizza. It’s my go to pizza when visiting. But right outside the door, there was a sign declaring that Street Taco Pizza was back and my interest was piqued. It was as delicious as it sounds. My only gripe - and this is a single instance over dozens of visits, was that while ordering, one employee interrupted us to speak with our cashier, sharing some funny anecdote unrelated to work. Both were very young and probably not of drinking age and I battled myself on whether to include the experience in my review at all. But some patrons aren’t as patient or polite as I am and I worry that they might garner the wrath of someone less tranquilo. Otherwise, I can’t say enough great things about their pizza. Check them out.

My friends whom I was with last night took me to Woodstock's on our way back home to the valley. Walking up you hear all the chatter & laughter of young adults having a great time outside of the patio. The line outside the main entrance was a 15 min. wait the vibe was great as this is a college town (CalPoly & Cuesta) are nearby & I just loved that vibe you saw all young adults working there & hanging out having a great time with each other socializing. The place was packed. There must've been a Halloween party close somewhere cuz there were some people entering & walking around the town dressed in costume (Saturday is Halloween). We finally entered the facility to place our order. We ordered a pizza, garlic bread, buffalo wings with ranch sauce & our drinks. We were lucky to have found a table to sit in the far front corner where the cashier let us know if it had a green sign on the table we would be able to sit there which it did (it basically let us know the table was clean). Since this was my first time at Woodstock's I couldn't wait to try their food (it must be good if everyone is there right). We received our meals & I loved the garlic bread, the pepperoni pizza has a folded crust it was very cheesy & delish. The buffalo wings I have never seen such BIG wings ever they were spicy & wings I would highly recommend (I want more)😁👌Over all I really really loved this pizzeria it had such a chill vibe. I'm not a young college adult but I will tell ya it made me feel like I fit in with the crowd well. Everyone was chill having fun & a great time being together & I just loved that atmosphere. I highly recommend to go here it was a great first time experience for me & will be for you! The young staff was super friendly & helpful.😁👍

An institution for downtown pizza woodstocks has been here essentially my whole life. Their pizza is really solid, and their unique flavors like the siracha-cha are offerings worth going out of the way for sometimes. The sauce is savory and their topping ratios are on point, although they do have a fairly bready crust (great if you love to dip them like me). The dine in experience is very buzzy and has good drinks at good prices. That all being said, their prices have always been on the high end, and kind of never stopped going without adding value. They have a very limited rewards program, and about a year ago halved the size of their dip cups (50 cent charge) on takeout orders. These are less of an issue dining in, but it's made me turn to other pizza places like Palo Mesa and My Friend Mike's when I want a great pizza out of the big chain pizza bubble. Places like that also offer unique toppings, and do it for a little less cash than woodstocks. You won't go wrong with woodstocks pizza, but for the price there's better takeout options IMHO. They are open exceptionally late at night which has been very helpful. Pictured: 2 medium pepperoni and a personal siracha-cha with 5 dips - $69 with a 5 dollar tip for pickup.

I've been eating at Woodstocks pizza since the early 90s. Their Pizza was always good, I love their crust, the college atmosphere of the pizzeria was a fun to watch people. But, over the past two years the quality of the pizza has really gone down. They've changed their pepperoni, their sauce is rather flat, no spice, you can no longer get chopped garlic, and they seem to be more into novelty flavored Pizzas, rather then keeping the quality of their Classics up. On Tuesday we went in for an early dinner, we ordered a single salad an x- large pepperoni pizza and two soft drinks. We noticed that the table next to us that had placed their order behind us got their pizza first, thought it was odd but whatever. Then ours came out. It was so cold the cheese had already solidified again. The pepperoni and the sauce had no taste to it. My antipasto salad was good they use a spring mix since romaine lettuce is not to be eaten right now. It had lots of toppings and the balsamic vinegar dressing was nice and tangy. The restaurant has become run down and there's a lot of construction happening at the moment hopefully things will improve once they break into the new side. I do miss the old Woodstocks, the old flavors, and the old game room. Update august 1 2018, took them up on their offer to make the pizza right. So we went the night that the backyard open up. All new furnishings and build out to make it look like you are outside. Pizza was the same quality and they have more beers on tap. I was told that the old Woodstocks was now going to be remodeled. A few things about the new space. It's smaller. Tables bunched up to windows and each other. The windows open to the interior every time somebody turned around at my table they were hitting their head on the folding Windows. On the other side the windows block the television. Most of the flow of traffic didn't know whether to go up the ramp or down the stairs this cause confusion and because of the small size people are unable to get around each other. Starting to wonder if the long-term plan is to have the old woodstocks Pizza the Pizza area and the new backyard to be the bar area. On the upside with everything being clean and new I don't feel like I'm going to get Hepatitis and the bathrooms don't feel like the homeless has peed all over them. I certainly hope that management is going to be able to keep everything clean and nice and not let it slide like...

By far the worst service I’ve ever had by staff and even the manager Rachel…. We ordered food then were given slices of pizza. We set our fresh slices down at a table with our buzzer we were given and our stuff. With in seconds of us getting up to grab drinks a staff member walked up dumped our brand new slices of pizza that we haven’t even taken a bite of yet and took our food buzzer but never even brought the rest of our food. When I told a staff member what happened he said the guy is on his first day and didn’t know and they will bring us our food soon and make up for the food they thrown away. No one came back with my pizza and was a fresh pizza left out for customers to buy in the front pizza case?? I let staff know again hey can I get my slice of pizza now. They finally brought my slice of pizza but then never brought our salad. Spoke to the guy who threw our first slices of pizza away and he said he has been there for 2 months. When I asked for the manager that said her name is Racheal and told her what happen that there staff lied to us and we still haven’t got our food when there’s 5 guys just standing around with there hands in there pockets not doing anything what’s going on she said no one lied to us then the manager Rachael lied to our faces and said they dumped our first slices because we had taken bites out of them. WAS COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY!! The actual manger lied directly to our faces too! So unbelievably crazy I thought she had to be on something. We asked for a refund and the manger was giving us attitude the entire time and her hands were so shaky!! Upper management should really check out what’s going on there?? The service has completely gone down and was hardly anyone in the restaurant and staff just shooting the breeze . We never even got our salad…. Hopefully the manager was actually competent enough to do our refund correctly. Guess will just have to wait for that too like the food we never received after paying for it?? By the way we always tip really good and gave a 24% tip! To bad for the staff that are actually pulling there wait there to miss out...
