We have been sleeping on The Rizz!!! We went in this morning for brunch and I'm so glad we did! The owner Alsu was extremely warm, inviting, and added greatly to our experience.
We decided to order a few different menu items to share and there is a cool gear table that spins which was perfect for our family style brunch. We were able to sit across from one another and the kids got a kick out of turning the table to share our food.
We ordered the Juicy Barbacoa Emanada which is different from the barbacoa I'm used to but was really good. It was very hearty with tender meat with cabbage, as it states in the menu. We got both a sweet (Banana Nutella) and savory (Breakfast Flat) buttered croissant panini, and both were excellent. The kids got the Mango Fusion and Power Shake smoothies, and I got an Iced milk tea. All the drinks were good and the kids actually drank all of theirs which doesn't always happen lol. Also we got all of this for under $40 so the pricing is very fair.
The atmosphere is awesome and they have a super comfy BIG couch to lounge on. They said a college student fell asleep one day and they just let them rest lol. There is also a printer in the lobby that customers are welcome to use if needed for school or work meetings.
Overall I'm glad we went in and will definitely be back to try more of the menu items we didn't get to on this round.
Go in and...
Read moreI was excited to try this place, and I decided to go through the drive through yesterday on the way to HEB. I didnt want to go shopping on an empty stomach (IYKYK). There was no line, and it didnt seem busy with customers inside. It took longer than the typical fast food restaurant to get the food out which I assumed was a good sign that they were making it fresh. The lady at the window was sincerely friendly, and she handed me a bag with beautiful hand drawn art on it which I thought was so amazing. When I ate it in the car before going into HEB, I was sad to discover that the pie was room temp throughout; not even a hint of warmth in my mouth. I got the rizz pie which I assume is their signature dish. I wasn't impressed even though i wanted to be. Cold food is just disappointing and my expectations were high. Sorry, Rizz, for the honest review. I might be back to give yall another try, but not...
Read moreWe ordered Mac and Cheese pies and some sweet pies, but I'm very disappointed. First off, no one said the Mac n Cheese pies had bacon. Why wouldn't you call them Mac and Cheese and Bacon pies or call them something unique that implies it's not just mac and cheese? Who automatically assumes that macaroni and cheese has bacon in it? I was very frustrated because I'm a vegetarian and I specifically gave up pork a long time ago. Second, the sweet pies are from Texas Pie Company in Kyle, TX. Why would your employees unwrap the label that says where they're from right before removing them from the display case? If you're not trying to hide the source, then just leave the wrapper on them for freshness and acknowledgement of the source. Kyle's Daily Grind doesn't hide that they get their pies from Texas Pie Co. This place had a lot...
