Taquitos Mi Rancho — Restaurant in San Marcos

Let me tell you that the algorithm isn’t doing humanity justice. How is this not one of the places that is automatically recommended on a Google search for tacos? I have been coming and getting tacos here for years. I live in Austin now and still make the drive. The OG’s will remember when they were near that H-E-B on E. Hopkins. It makes me so happy to see how they’ve grown and I highly suggest stopping by and Inhaling some tacos.

Firstly, I want to say that their service is amazing and has not changed. They are kind, courteous and will go straight up to your car to take your order. They take cash, Zelle or cashapp. This can be the teensiest inconvenience, but processing debit/credit cards has an extra fee.

The price for the size and flavor is still reasonably priced. Yes, the prices have gone up, but understandably so.

The menu has grown and offers various options now as well as agua frescas. Their horchata is certainly one of the best that I have had anywhere in the vicinity.

The flavor is on POINT. The food is not just visually appealing, but it is so well seasoned and made to order.

Taquitos Mi Rancho is one of the best taco spots I’ve been to in San Marcos! It’s a food truck setup with a nice big parking lot where cars park, and the waiters actually come up to each car with the menu — which I found to be a really nice and thoughtful touch. They also have some seating available if you prefer to sit outside.

When I went, the sky was clear and there was a cool breeze even though it was the end of summer — the whole atmosphere just felt perfect for enjoying good food.

Now, the food itself — amazing! They have plenty of options like mini tacos, tortas, quesadillas, burritos, and a variety of refreshing lemonades. I personally loved the mini tacos — each one comes with a slice of avocado, and the price feels totally fair for the quality and portions.

They also give you lots of sides: grilled onions, pickled onions, pickled jalapeños, and pico de gallo — everything was fresh and flavorful. The service was great too — the waiters were friendly, fast, and attentive.

Gotta be honest. Food here is great... Like my favorite taco truck in the city of San Marcos, and they stay busy because of it. With that being said about a year ago my wife and I came here and we got tacos and beans. Soon as we took the lid off the cup of beans there was a dead fly floating on top. We were grossed out and didn't eat here for over a year. We just went back Saturday to give them another chance. Mistakes happen, and their food is delicious. Decided to leave a review now In hopes that the staff and owner are more cautious at preventing them nga like this from occuring in the future.
