We went to chili's for Father's Day because it is my favorite chain. Now we are fairly new to the salt lake area but had been to this location one other time and had a decent service. We showed up at 6:20ish last night and got seated right away the restaurant was only about half full. service started good got our drinks ordered and food ordered at the same time. Got our drinks within a few minutes and our food about 20 minutes later. We have a 16 month old so we usually just share our meals with him because he won't eat a whole kids meal yet. We asked for an extra plate and our waiter completely forgot it and didn't come back by till we were mostly done eating. We had planned to order dessert because me and my wife really enjoy the toffee brownie. The waiter didn't even ask if we wanted dessert just assumed since we shared a meal with our son and my wife only got soup that we were too poor I guess to get dessert and tried to bring the check. I informed the waiter we wanted the brownie and we had to wait almost 30 minutes for the brownie. When we got the brownie to share (they're really big for just one person) I took one bite and realized the entire thing was still just batter not at all cooked. I asked for a replacement and after about 15 minutes the waiter came back by to tell us that they had put the same brownie back in the oven. After it had already been topped with the ice cream and toppings they add. I couldn't believe that they would do that. I told the gentleman I didn't want the brownie anymore and he brought the check they tried to charge me for 2 brownies and I told them I would not pay for even the one I did actually want and they removed both a manager tried to tell me they were boxing it up for us and we declined and left. As we were leaving another waiter tried to chase us through the parking lot with the boxed up twice baked brownie. I used to frequent the chilis in my home town probably 2-3 times a month. Never again will I eat at a chilis. If I could give 0 stars I would. Never had such rude...
Read moreI most recently ordered the 5 Chicken Crispers with Fries and Roasted Street Corn. I recommend the honey mustard for your dipping sauce. Honestly, 4 crispers is sufficient. Also, I was shocked how good the street corn was. I'll definitely order that again. My favorite menu item hands down is the Baby Back Ribs with the house barbecue (play me the iconic '96 jingle!). The Cajun Chicken Pasta is also fantastic and sits comfortably as my #2 option. The skillet beef queso is a must order for my house, and I like the Southwestern Eggrolls, and Texas Cheese Fries for starters. Chili's usually has a good 3 for Me or 3 for Lunch combo where you get a solid amount of food for a decent price. But the most GOATed item Chili's has in its offerings is the Molten Chocolate Cake. It's in the HOF of desserts shouldn't be shared with more than 3 people as a rule.
Colin was my server on my most recent visit and provided excellent service, at least until our "hour" was up. Then it was the unspoken "pay the check and get moving" vibes. I wasn't upset at all, just giving a reason for 4 stars on service as opposed to 5. But in general, I receive good service when I dine here.
For atmosphere, it's a Chili's. You either like it or you don't. This location has been around for over 25 years, and it's pretty standard. If you haven't been, what's the matter with you? Chili's is the ultimate American Tex-Mex chain. Don't live under a rock, become cultured and give it a try. I feel no shame in saying I love Chili's and will continue to darken the doors of...
Read moreThis place was all kinds of out of sorts tonight. My son and I stood at the hostess booth waiting to be seated, and waiting, and waiting, and waiting. Meanwhile, the server in the bar area, whose section was not busy, did not say one word to us or get someone to seat us, even after making eye contact multiple times. Finally, a different server comes over and tells us we have to wait an additional 5 minutes to be seated, or go sit at a table in the bar area. He told us that would be quicker. We went and sat at a table, and the table next to us filled us in on the hostess just disappearing and people waiting for forever to get seated as a result. The server in the bar area, yup, the one that ignored us while we were standing there waiting to be seated, was not having it and refused to serve us. She said that back in July, they made a new rule and only 21 and older could sit in that area, so my son and I had to move. We went back to the hostess station, and waited, and waited, and waited. The hostess was extremely confused. Someone else had to get involved to finally get us to a table. We were told that they only had 2 servers and that's why they were all discombobulated; however, I saw 6 there, and 3 of them were at our table. I feel bad for our server because by the time we waited, sat, was refused service, waited again, and then sat again, we were not happy at all. There was nothing wrong with our food, but the whole first impression thing......ruined our...
