In reality, I think this place deserves around 2.5 stars, maybe even 3. I am just listing this as a 2 because I think I came at a bad time and personally did not have a good experience. We came at around 1:30 in the afternoon, on a hot day, which I understand is probably not the best time to come and probably would have been better if we arrived later in the evening. However, I cannot accept the service we were greeted with. The woman who took us to the table was downright rude: there is no other word for it. She was extremely impatient and treated us like we were dumb, just because we could not hear what she was saying in a loud room. Maybe she’s not paid enough to care, but it is still disrespectful no matter what. The service overall was okay, however: our server and who I believe was the manager were perfectly fine and did their job well. When we got the food, I think I was rather underwhelmed. The burger, which is supposed to be the selling point of Eureka!, was kind of dry. The food wasn’t bad, but it also didn’t wow me at all. We also got fries and a salad, which were fine. It is extremely average, and there are many other, better burger places in the city (In n Out, Habit, Kyle’s Kitchen which is right across the street). The atmosphere was not enjoyable. It was sweltering inside the restaurant: again, it was a hot day, but the heat felt amplified when I was sitting at the table. Inside, loud and headache-inducing music was being played, with lyrics about sex and other pointless things. I almost could not take it, and I wanted to go outside several times. I did like the big chalkboard in the front of the room, though: I thought it had a very nice Santa Barbara twist on a California chain restaurant. But when I left I began to feel a huge headache coming on.
Overall, I did not like eating here at all. There were issues I had that ranged from small to big, and they piled up. Safe to say we will not be coming back...
Read moreI came here the other Nov 1 around 9 pm with a large group and at first our experience was great. The host was friendly and let us charge phones and it was a great atmosphere. Unfortunately our server did not grace us with anything friendly. He rolled his eyes at us, purposely ignored us, and severed us dirty water cups. We even found a fly in one of the group drinks. His energy towards us completely ruined the experience. We were a group of mixed races( mainly black) and we felt like we were targeted as he didn't treat the other tables around us the same. He was very friendly( making jokes) and not ignoring the other tables. I believe the server's name was Juan. I have nothing against the establishment, but there wasn't a manager available for us to speak too and we hope that something like that doesn't happen to anyone else. We did inform the host( who was kind and friendly ) and he was shocked by this behavior, but since he's not in management we knew there was nothing much he could do. I honestly didn't have time to really try the food, because I didn't feel comfortable staying after finishing my drink. It's very unfortunate to be in an establishment where you don't feel welcomed. Hopefully they can provide more customer service training on their staff and in the service industry it's best to treat each...
Read moreNo manager on duty.... aside from the terrible service, indifferent attitude, weak drinks, and dirty tables, the burger was good -ish. Dry, under seasoned a little over cooked. fries were cold and limp. Upon arriving we saw three dirty booths and our waiter, after we interrupted, said he clean the table, promptly left and didn’t return. A young lady then offers us a table next to a wide open window at 11pm and we again asked for a booth to be cleaned. Finally as someone cleaned one booth, a couple of 16year old privileged kids slide in and no one says a thing and three of us were still at a table with an open window. Finally we get a table and order drinks. The waitress returned 5 minutes later and took our order offering to leave us with drink menus. Another 5 minutes and we see our drinks at the bar sitting. Had to rouse the waitress who was engaged with her social life to bring us the drinks- which she did, sans apology. The Manhattan was 1/2 a drink and when I questioned that... I was told the ice cube was small and that’s why the drink wasn’t even 1/2 a glass tall! Overall it’s clear there are only a bunch of twenty somethings trying to run this place- and doing so pretty much like... a bunch of kids...
