In a recent visit to Santa Barbara my husband and I discovered a wonderful gem! A new small winery, Jamie Slone Wines. It's in the historic part of downtown in a quaint little area with several other tasting rooms in the Wine Collection of El Paseo. When we walked thru the door we instantly felt welcomed by the Beautiful Spanish Style decor which was so warm and inviting, like we were in someones charming living room. The owners, Kym and Jamie Slone, poured for us, some of the most fabulous wines we have had in quite some time and by far, the "Best of the Best" in Santa Barbara! They poured several wonderful red blends like their 2011 "BoRific", a fantastic Pinot Noir and my personal favorite, a Sauvignon Blanc from Happy Canyon. As a matter of fact, I loved that one so much, we bought a case to bring home! :) Kym and Jamie not only educated us with their extensive knowledge of wine, but their passion and enthusiasm was contagious! What a fun outgoing and friendly couple…it seemed as though we had known them forever! When it was time to go, we felt like we were leaving a friends home… but we knew without a doubt.. We Would Be Back!!! If you ever find yourself in Santa Barbara, and want to visit some tasting rooms, drink some delicious wines and just truly relax and enjoy, we highly recommend you make a point to stop by Jamie Slone Wines!!! It's an "Experience" you won't want to miss, and guaranteed... You Won't Be Disappointed!!! Say hello to Kym and Jamie for us and their little dog "Sophie" too! Just save some...
Read moreThe wife and I were in Santa Barbara last week for an anniversary celebration and decided to taste wine while we were there. We looked at the website for Jamie Slone and they seemed to have wines we would be into so we stopped by. Their tasting room was empty when we arrived and a good-looking middle aged guy, (turned out to be the owner) greeted us and started us on our journey.
After tasting a couple of wines I noticed a TV in the corner of the room that was displaying various wine-centric photos along with pictures of a Mustang at different racing events. I happen to drive the same style of Mustang so I asked about it and it turned out that the owner, (the Jamie in Jamie Slone) was also a race car driver. So of course we started talking about cars and racing.
We enjoyed every wine we tasted but especially liked the Boriffic and P1 wines, nice mouth feel, deep juicy fruit and not too heavy on the tannin. Just how I like my wines. We ended up buying a bottle of the P1.
When we were done with our tasting, Kim, Jamie's wife recommended we check out L'Aventure in Paso Robles which we did the next day on our way back to the Bay Area. We had a great time there as well. Thank you Kim for the recommendation.

Read moreMy GF Kerri and I went to SB 2 weekends ago and visited the Mission. I got down on one knee and proposed in the rose garden. Then we were off to the Urban Wine Trail along State Street. We hit Sanford first and were impressed with the wine. Our host there was really knowledgeable and cool but the place lacked atmosphere. He suggested we go to Jamie Slone. Everything about our experience is 5 star worthy. The wine here is excellent. Smooth, very structured with a good finish. Sarah, our server, was super cool and obviously excited to be pouring such good wine. The place is like an extension of their living room. Cozy an comfortable. Kerri was showing off her bling and Kim came over and was so nice to us. I noticed Jamie interacting with other guests, showing them a map of Santa Rita Hills. They took good care of us and were genuinely interested in getting to know us. We had a great time talking to Kim and Jamie and their generosity and hospitality was much appreciated. A guest paid for our tasting fees as an engagement gift. Very nice gesture. Everyone was so cool here. We loved the vibe of this place. We bought a Pinot and Super Tuscan. Jamie, Kim, Sarah, thank you all so much for making our special day even more special....
