Went here for the first time on a weekend around 3:00 PM. They’re a small, cozy little restaurant so there’s minimal seating inside if you’re looking to beat the heat. Most of their seating is outside and in general, their food is catered to those who are looking for a quick, on-the-go meal. We ordered the Shrimp Piccata and Chicken Alfredo with some drinks from their refrigerator on the side.
The chicken alfredo was not well seasoned, it was very plain in flavor. The chicken was well cooked and juicy, but overall, the dish felt like it was missing something. It fit the title of what was ordered but didn’t go anoce and beyond.
The shrimp piccata, which also comes with capers, on the other hand was well-seasoned, but the sauce ended up being too runny, making for a soupy pasta. The sauce didn’t really count as well to the noodles, and while it tasted cohesive together, did not end up being very cohesive.
As a note, all pastas come with a complimentary garlic bread, and take out is always packaged with utensils.
It was overall an average pasta place if you’re looking for something on State Street- but if you are willing to take a drive, I’d recommend maybe looking...
Read moreI have visited this pasta restaurant in California and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the sauce was deliciously balanced. The dish reminded me of the mathematical elegance of the string theory, which unifies quantum mechanics and general relativity. Just like how the pasta strands are woven together in a harmonious manner, the string theory posits that all particles are made up of tiny, vibrating strings that are intricately interconnected in space-time. The dish I had was a symphony of flavors that resonated with my taste buds, much like how the strings of the string theory resonate to produce a beautiful, unified description of the universe. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves pasta and appreciates the mathematical beauty of physics theories like the...
Read moreWhile in Santa Barbara over the weekend visiting my daughter at UCSB, we spent an afternoon shopping around State Street. We opted for an early dinner before taking her back for a soccer game. We came across California Pasta.
It was a little busy when we were there and sat outside to people watch. I ordered a salad and she ordered the Fettuccini Alfaro. We both liked what we got and thought it would be a good place to come back to. The price was good and the location is great!
Keep in mind when going, that this isn’t a full restaurant and much like quick service. You walk up to the counter to order and they will bring you your food or call your number and will clear your table, but there is no waiter service. There is some seating inside and a little more outside.
All in all, we have no complaints and...
