I made a reservation one week in advance and requested a window. William took the reservation. Got there 5 minutes before and did not get a window table. Server left bread, butter and water. I had to request to make our order. We did. Asked server if there were any sides with the entrees as menu did not describe any. Server said they had no sides only soup or salad which was included. We ordered 2 glasses of wine. 20 minutes later no vine yet, had to ask again. Salad and soup, appetizers arrive. After one hour, server comes with entrees, one plate in each hand, no place at table as he never collected appetizers empty plates. Entrees did come with sides (server had no idea), potatoes and carrots (undercooked). At this point our wine glasses were empty. No one at any time asked if we wanted more wine. I then asked server if the dessert was included to bring it for us, he had no clue that the dessert was included. Dessert took another 20 minutes (really?). I asked what the server’s name was and voila…it was William. Really, I had never had such a bad experience. Service was awful. We spent $180.00 including tip and tax. It should have been complementary. Very disappointed. Did this place change ownership? We had not gone there for a while. It did not used to...
Read moreWritten by Partner Evan: This restaurant has the most romantic atmosphere I have ever experienced. The lighting, artwork, and acoustics are on point. Though the space is cozy it feels spacious. They are open late which makes them a nice option for dinner and a movie date night which is exactly how my partner and I ended up there. And the food! Let me put it to you like this, if the restaurant had no atmosphere and was just a table and two chairs outside next to a dumpster, as long as they kept their menu and their chef I would still eat there and savor every bite. The atmosphere is just a bonus to these amazing dishes. I had pasta with filet mignon meat balls. I don’t think I can ever go back to regular ground beef again lol. They melted in my mouth and the sauce did not over power the dish, but instead just added to the overall flavor. My partner had the filet mignon and said it was the best steak he had ever had. I tried a bite of his and I agree too. Perfect crust on the outside while still keeping the inside nice and juicy. We ended the night with a rich chocolate mouse and a creamy crème Brule. I would drive up from San Diego to Santa Barbara just to...
Read moreNot impressed. Upon arrival the waitress did not seem happy to have customers arriving. We were seated outdoors. Again, the waitress did not seem happy to be waiting on a table and was not friendly. She brought out waters that all spilled before reaching our table. This obviously wasn't good, but her energy was extremely negative. We assumed she was having a bad night and decided we should tip her well to bring something positive to her night. Nothing improved. There were very few customers, but our meals took over an hour to arrive. We were told this is because everything is handmade. None of us felt our meals were worth the wait. Half of our table didn't get any water. We asked for butter and Ketchup, it never came. Asked for milk for the kids when we ordered but had to ask for it again half way through our meals. Outdoor bench seating was uncomfortable. By the end of our experience, we decided to skip a birthday dessert and changed our mind on the gratuity. Absolutely not worth our time or the bill. Won't be going back or recommending...
