Went in tonight for a early valentines dinner and the service was horrible. Had this waitress who pretty much ignored us the whole time. There was only one other couple in there and she couldn't give us the time of day. Litterally had to yell across the restaurant to get her attention. There was another server there who saw me staring my waitress down waiting to get her attention and had to come over and help me because she again wasn't paying attention. She was just talking to the guy in the kitchen the whole time. It was so bad even my boyfriend was like I'm probably not going to he able to get another drink am I? And he is the more laid back out idc type of person out of the 2 of us. When i asked her for a box I also asked for another drink instead she came back with the bill so I had to ask again. Honestly I could understand if the place was busy and she had a lot going on but there was only 4 people in the WHOLE restaurant. My boyfriend and I and another couple thats it. I went to use the girlsroom and it was out of toliet paper as well. I wish i read the other reviews that said the service was bad before I went there for my valentine's date but you live and you learn I guess. So between the trash service and the bland food it totally wasn't worth the 184 dollars. I WILL NOT BE GOING...
Read moreQuick Summary Solid cajun seafood in a bag restaurant with a great location. Easy street and lot parking in the plaza, and a nice place to get dinner before or after watching a movie. Only deducting one star because service could be better
Food- 4.5 stars Crab fries- the fries were great as they were double fried. They used real snow crab which is nice. I would just opt for the regular cajun fries in the future, because the fries overwhelm the crab flavor
Pirate's choice- we ordered the all-in sauce which was nice because it added some sweetness to the cajun sauce. It was a pretty large portion. I would opt to not get the potatoes, clams and quail egg in the future (they were pretty plain and didn't soak up the sauce well). The shrimp and mussels were really good and soaked up the sauce well
Service- 3 stars Kudos to the Asian male server who was helping us. I felt bad because he was the only one who was helping us and most of the customers out. The rest of his coworkers forgot/didn't do any of our requests and pretended to be busy.
Bottom Line Pretty solid cajun seafood in a bag restaurant that will satisfy your craving. Food was good, the building was well ventilated, but the service...
Read moreWe were excited that this place was finally open. The only other seafood boil place in the SCV is out in Canyon Country. Also, if you're not familiar with these types of places, they serve you your food in a steam bag with the sauce and spice level of your choosing. You will need to peel or shell your own food. This means that you need to be prepared to get your hands dirty. One thing that this place offers (for an upcharge), is the option to order your food peeled. A huge plus if you're there with small children.
Now to get into the food. They have various sauces and five spiciness levels (original, mild, medium, spicy, and assassin). The shrimp we ordered was cooked perfectly, so easily peeled. I ordered mine with their crab n spice sauce, spicy. My wife ordered crab n spice mild and green muscles with their all-in sauce, original spiciness level. The crab n spice is your basic Cajun flavor, which was tasty. However, we preferred the all-in sauce, as it had a more complex flavor; it has a mildly sweet, lemon flavor. We also got clam chowder and crab fries. I recommend the crab fries.
All in all we will be going back and look forward to bringing our...
