Capital Cole is one of my favorite restaurants. So I am a little bit biased when giving my review.
What I love about this place is that you can take all of the time you want to think about what you want from their menus. It's got that food cafeteria feel.
The food is amazing. I've never had a dish that I wasn't just over the Moon about. My favorite thing is that their menus are really diverse. If you want something simple, they've got their chicken fried menu, if you're looking for something a little spicier, they have their Korean Street barbecue food, and last but not least if you really want to send it they have an amazing list of dip sandwiches. The only menu I have a beef with is the salad menu, spending $14 to $16 in a salad plus five additional for a protein. Feels a little excessive. I'd love to see that price change, but other than that I can't speak negatively to the menu.
As for service, everybody's friendly and willing to answer questions. They offer specials on select Thursdays and Fridays, I've yet to try those but I'm very excited.
It's one of those self-service places, so don't be an asshat and bus your own table. I know for some of those middle to upper class folk that might be a hard task but just do it. The place is great. The food is nice and you can be in and out in 30 minutes depending on what you're trying to eat.
As for the atmosphere, it's not bad. Open seating and choosing your own table, my only issue is the art on the walls is all food themed but kind of fever dreamed. I don't mind that but I don't love it so there's that.
At the end of the day I'm just an opinionated human being about food. This place is food is absolutely on point. I feel like most anyone could eat something from here regardless of what walk of life they come from.
As I continue filling out this review, the menu that they have on Google for the review is very limited. I'd recommend anything on the menu. That sounds good to you....
Read moreLet's get the rant out of the way about Santa Fe's restaurants: prices have gotten really expensive, food quality and portions have gone down, and the service is still bad. Take Capital Coal for example, good concept poor execution. Five different menus coming out of the same kitchen, branded as unique and different flavor profiles with special sauce combos. Cool idea except when you only have one cook, one food prep, and one cashier doubling as server and drink distributor. Problematic when it's lunch hour and the line is nearly out the door. Pricing is expensive for spiced up comfort food. Seriously, $15 for chicken tenders laying on a piece of overly salty Texas toast smothered in pickles? I'm out. I'm out on slow service, so-so food, and outrageous prices. Santa Fe, you're...
Read moreI was so excited to go there for the first time after Alex de Vore’s article really inspired me. Great atmosphere, laid-back patio, but the food was terrible. I ordered a kimchi quesadilla and a kicmchi tacodillo. it was the saltiest food I think I’ve ever eaten in my life and I could barely finish it. I was too embarrassed to go back to the counter after spending $34. I felt like I had been robbed of my money. I will not be going back as I cannot trust spending that much money for meals that I tolerated.. My recommendation to the famous chef and novel concept that you tune down the salt and the intensity of the kimchi because it absolutely overwhelmed the beauty and preparation of the food. The menu is amazing and I really wish to return, but that would require a...
