Less than four minutes of sitting down, we were approached by a man trying to get us to purchase his candy bars. After asking him to leave us alone, we were AGAIN approached (by a woman this time) asking us to purchase some of the trinkets she was selling. Within 10 minutes of being seated, twice we were asked to buy from these people! We did mention it to our server, and were told that these people don’t work for Chili’s. But BOTH of these individuals were in & out of the kitchen several times, as well as being behind both the bar & prep area. The manager came over just prior to us leaving and once again informed us that the people in question do not work for Chili’s. He NEVER offered anything to mitigate our disgust of being intruded upon before we had even started to peruse the menu. We have never before encountered such blatant lies by management, especially when we observe the two sellers going into every area in the restaurant. My wife and I are both Disabled American Veterans and are horrified by the level of incompetence (very high) and professionalism (very low) that was displayed by this staff, but especially by the manager. We normally enjoy Chili’s, but, unfortunately we now have to reconsider patronizing your establishments in the future. We fully understand the dilemma facing the service industry these days, and, although sympathetic to the situation, you never make your problems, your customers problems. But having worked in both fast food & sit down restaurants, we do know what it’s like to be short staffed where the rest of those working have to pick up the slack in addition to their own work. We offer no solution, but, again, your customers do not want to hear about your work issues, they come to Chili’s to eat, drink, & socialize and in this instance, you (your manager, yes, but, ultimately, corporate responsibility) allowed our lunch to be ruined by the bombastic nature of people who we never heard anyone ask these individuals to leave. It’ll take a lot of work before we’re comfortable eating in one of your restaurants again. We usually eat Chili’s at least once or twice a month, either in person or DoorDash, spending between $50 to $125 each time. And while we realize that we are insignificant to your bottom line in the grand scheme of things, remember this old business adage: a satisfied customer will probably tell maybe two or three others, but, an unhappy customer will tell more than 10 people about...
Read moreWorst experience at Santa Fe Chili's restaurant today. Food was excellent, service was the worst. First off, ordered chips and salsa before our lunch along with queso dip. Was brought the queso dip with no chips. 15 minutes went by and after watching the queso grow cold, my wife decided to returned the queso dip. After getting our lunch, 5 minutes passed by and a different server brought our chips and salsa. My wife told the server we expected the chips before the meal and told the server we no longer wanted the chips and salsa. The original server finally checked on us and I asked for a coke refill. It never came. After finishing the meal, the original server returned and asked if we needed anything. I informed her I was still waiting for the coke, which she commented, "no one brought it" which I told her "I'm still waiting." She brought a too-go cup, and she still tried charging us for the chips and salsa along with the queso. My wife informed her we were not paying for those items. Bill was over $50 which I gave the server a gift card valued at $50. After waiting approximately 20 minutes, I went to check on what the delay was. Found the server and the manager trying to enter the gift card and stated it was declined. I showed the manager the receipt which he declined to look at. I told the manager, the food was excellent but the service was horrible. The manager went to a different register with same results. After about another 20 minutes, I finally told the manager I would pay with a credit card and told him this was the worst experience ever at a Chili's restaurant. I also told him I would NEVER return to the Santa Fe Chili's and would instead visit the Espanola Chili's in the future. Manager tried to apologize by saying he had a gift card he would give me one but didn't have any available (insult to injury) although no injury occurred. Will never return to the Santa...
Read moreStop in August 14th 2021, we dine in around 3PM. Party of four a 10 minutes wait, not an issue. We were seated around the corner in the bar area with a half table and half booth. We ordered mango iced tea, took a few minutes til it arrived to our table we were ready to order. So starting off from my auntie and Uncle they started with an old-timers Burger and I received shrimp tacos and my son received the kids macaroni. When the food had arrived everything look just as it should my tacos are fine my son's macaroni look good the only thing that wasn't properly cooked were the two old-timers burgers they were still pink and raw in the middle. When they took back the orders of the burger my family had to wait about 15 minutes until they receive their newly cooked burger. When the burgers arrive to the table they were advised to cut halfway into the meat to see if it's well done my auntie cut hers and of course it was still uncooked meat in the middle. And my uncle's burger was cooked well done. At that point my auntie was sitting there without her main meal through her whole meal just eating her onion blossom while my son and I were already finished with our food and my uncle was just getting started on his. It was so unorthodox! I felt bad just being there, eating while she didn't have her food** on how they handle the situation I know the manager supposedly step in and fix the situation but by then it wasn't a really great experience At All. Usually we come to Chili's franchise because of the food and the atmosphere and family quality time but we didn't experience any of those things that day. We left feeling unsatisfied and got my auntie burger taken off and free drinks for the whole ticket expect for one margarita. We aren't too happy to making a comeback anytime...
