A group of eight of us made a special reservation for Bevardi's Salute to celebrate an evening out after some medical issues. The servers were attentive when we first sat down, bringing requested butter for our bread (a few people didn't want the supplied oil), waters, wines, and so on. Then it came time to order. Somehow the server took 7 people's orders and skipped person 8 so they had to chase him down. On the appetizers, the servers were nice and split an appetizer onto two plates for a couple to easily share. I adore beef carpaccio but this was more like deli meat than a nice thin slicing. Next came the main dishes. The general consensus was that the food was good but not great. The lasagna was OK. The short rib ravioli was OK. Someone had the butternut squash ravioli special and it was bland with tough ravioli. We even passed that dish around for others to try, since a number of us love butternut squash ravioli, and it just wasn't up to standards. I also question the serving of several of the meals in hot skillet pans. I've certainly seen a variety of plate presentations in restaurants over the years, but a hot skillet pan is just hard to eat out of and fairly dangerous. The staff was quite busy by this point and not very attentive to if we had feedback or thoughts. So we just asked for the bills. Items showed up on the wrong peoples' bills but we sorted it out amongst ourselves rather than ask for check redos. All in all, not what we would have expected from Bevardi's Salute. I'll give it four stars since the food was still reasonable, but just not up to the standards we would have thought.

We loved this place and will be back with our friends and family. We've been to almost every italian restaurant in downtown Sarasota because we have a weekend apartment here. The host was so friendly. We didn't know if we should sit in outside or the wine room and he immediate asked if we wanted to see it first. We saw the wine room and liked it,so we stayed índoors considering it was super hot outside. Our waitress was so friendly and gave us her opinion on food and drink options, which we appreciated. The drinks? OMG AMAZING!! THIS place knows how to make a drink!! You totally get what you pay for and 12 dollars for a drink is reasonable, let alone a GREAT drink. Kudos to the bartender!!!! The food was amazing..I can't tell you how many Italian restaurants in the area we've been to that I've asked for chicken marsala instead of veal marasala and they would NOT make the accommodation. However this restaurant does!!! I can't tell you how many Italian restaurants in the downtown Sarasota area that will not make the change, it's ridiculous. We don't even care to pay rhe same price as the veal, I just don't eat veal. Great food, ambiance, drinks and staff!!!! Go and try it. You will NOT be disappointed!! I'm originally from NY and know Italian restaurants and this is on the top of my list!

We ate Thanksgiving dinner here. First time in 20+years I haven't cooked our Thanksgiving day meal. Parking might be an issue when its a not a holiday. Be prepared to walk and possibly pay to park if its busy in the area. We sat on patio. They had live music setting up. Might have been nice to have known when it started as I would have delayed our reservation but... server was new so he was a little awkward but did ok. Food was excellent! Chose spinach salad with raspberry champagne vinaigrette. Main meal was turkey (both white and dark and so much I couldn't finish it all). Dressing, a quarter of a sweet potato, green beans almadine cranberry sauce mashed potatoes and gravy. Dessert was pumpkin pie or apple pie ala mode. Son and I got pie which was more like a cobbler and THE best vanilla ice cream ever and idc for ice cream. Hubs got pumpkin pie and he is spoiled by mine (secret recipie) 😆 so he wished he'd gone with apple pie. It was all very delicious!! Next trip down I'd like to try their regular menu! I dug into dessert before taking a pic too 😆

Edit 6/6/25: I haven’t been back and won’t go back. Almost a year later and this is still one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. I just wanted to share that this place is still, and will always be, the example I use when asked what’s the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to. I’ll be back next year to reignite my vitriol.

Overpriced and underwhelming. I was genuinely confused about why this restaurant was busy at all. The fact that they can charge $40 for salty and tough veal is beyond me. The saving grace was the great atmosphere and our very attentive waitress, Gezelle. She took very good care of us and made sure all of our needs were met.

We had a larger party (10 ppl). We had ordered drinks, apps, and entrees. We waited an hour before we saw any food. The appetizers didn’t come out till AFTER two rounds of drinks, while our last app came out 15 minutes after the others. We had even forgotten we’d ordered it. When it did come out, the calamari was chewy, salty, and served with a water sauce. Drinks were inconsistent. My wife’s Peartini was very tasty the first round, pure alcohol the next drink. She had to nurse it till the food came. The mojitos were terrible. They tasted like seltzer water and we had to send them back. The $55 lamb racks were raw. The veal saltibucca was tough. The meat lasagna didn’t have any meat. At least the truffle risotto tasted like truffle. Glad they could make something taste well.

We will not be returning and we advise not to come here. We came here for a premium experience and were let down. Shout out to Gezelle. She...

Not sure even where to begin, i guess the only good thing was our server. First we were seated at a table next to a sewer that smelled like straight up poop, our server politely moved us. We were never told specials but every table next us were told specials. Salads came great, dinner came..had chicken parmesan less than. Impressed not even a half cup of cooked pasta and cheese not even melted...server came back very apologetic ..took back with manager.. (wearing blue dress and blonde curly hair) came back in less than 3 min. With the dish..She never came back to see how things were..... very sad to see that this is a person running your restaurant, she didn't/doesnt care she was done with her shift becuase she shortly left after that. Meal was only hot, added extra pasta to dish sauce on top and cheese still not melted..decided to eat so my husband and i could eat together. Server cleared dishes and never offered desserts. But other tables around us were....

Leaving asked hostess where to leave review she told and then asked and i explained and she proceeded to laugh that we were there not even an hour...that manager didnt care and continued to not care..like im only a hostess....her name was ava i believe.

Long story short, i would never go back or ever recommend to anyone...not sure how this place scored so high on theor stars...good thing we had cocktails and appetizers at the Rtiz Carlton before heading over .... Date of...
