I gave this place a 1 star not because of the food. The food is actually amazing. The 1 star is for the type service and treatment that was displayed to myself and guest on Mother’s Day. The manager Dave treated us different due to our face and color did not fit the demographics the restaurant is seeking to serve.
Although most restaurants don’t accept reservations on holidays like Mother’s Day. We attempt to make reservations and was told reservations can’t be made. We was told the restaurant will open at its normal business hours 4pm. To assure we was on the waiting list two members from our group showed up at 2:30pm. When they arrive the restaurant was open and was told they open up at 12pm. When they attempt to make reservations they was told all tables was reserved. Contrary to what was told. Seats/ tables remained empty.
As they set and watch no one come. When I arrive around 4:30pm. Inquiring of the empty outside tables and empty tables that have been vacant for 2 hours in the front. Dave, tell us we won’t be able to be seated until 8:30pm. Hoping we would leave. Instead we waited patiently. Somewhere around 5pm. I inquired again with another member explaining we have been waiting and watching tables on the inside and outside remain empty. If guest made reservations. How long do they have?
I know from personal experience you’re only given a 15 min grace period. Those tables have been empty for hours. We could have ate and been done. None of the so called guest has yet to arrive.
When I asked the manager Dave, whom seen very uncomfortable, agitated, and frustrated what time was these reservations. Because it’s now 3 hours and you still holding tables. For unpromising guest who either cancelled or our extremely late. He refuse to give a straight answer. Instead he tells me he’s going to walk away from this conversation.
As a senior manager. Dave professional conduct is a poor example for customer service. When He did answer. None of his answers made sense. It’s my belief reservations are not guaranteed that people will show. So holding all these empty tables for hours. Is a shame on the company and a liability on the company and it’s business.
So another manager ( name unknown) set us at the reserve high top tables at the bar. These tables was reserved also. It was a very crystal clear sign that discrimination had to play its parts in Dave’s professional performance . Because even after being seated. He still seemed upset that the other manager allowed us to be seated. This was obvious because He was shaking his head, made no effort to apologize or make sure we was given the fair experience. Made sure to whisper to waiters who would serve they carry out his unequal plan. Such as the waiter never gave us bread. Everything was in hurry. The waiter hardly came to check on us. They would always circle around talking and looking at us. Like we had a target on us. It was very uncomfortable and unfair.
But this is something the company should look into to ensure that this doesn’t happen again. Posted a picture of a table that was near us that remained empty for over 4 hours. When we kept inquiring about the table. We was “...

I responded as instructed and haven’t heard back from anyone to this date Took my time out of my day to be proactive and try to assist a business in discussing what went wrong. Got better things to do with my time. Def won’t go back and if I could change my rating to one star I would.
I’m not sure why everyone goes so gah gah over this place. I made reservations and was asked if i was celebrating anything special I said my sons birthday, not sure why they asked this as the only one who said anything was the hostess who inquired who’s birthday was it? (strange). The atmosphere was not what I expected at all as an interior architect I can say that well it was a very dated approach to interior design.I had the 36 day aged ribeye as well as my son. $80 each we were so excited. Daughter had the 6 oz fillet and mom had the chicken Milanese. Mom loved the chicken, however tbh the steaks were very under seasoned, as a former chef I was pretty shocked both daughter and son said the same thing. Steaks were cooked ok nothing special, good quality cuts I would say. Brussels sprouts were excellent, a bit soggy. Lobster Mac N Cheese again nothing special under seasoned sauce was a bit runny noodles a bit over cooked. There were also two things that really bothered us, a group of 8 of the loudest men sat behind us NOT THE RESTAURANTS FAULT. They were extremely boisterous and biding to see who could be the loudest and obnoxiously funny. Just a Bit surprised the manager didn’t come over and try to tone it down. Second thing was a breast feeding mother on the other side, yes someone brought a two month old and was breast feeding at the table with a blanket over the baby again not the restaurants fault, however when you’re paying those kinds of prices to eat out I think a near perfect pleasant dining experience should be in order. We literally just stopped talking because we couldn't hear each other speak without yelling ourselves. Lastly when we finished our plates sat in front of us for about 15 minutes which I really didn’t appreciate, considering there were two servers attending to us. Unfortunately for us it was just a “meh” experience and was soooo excited for my son because steak is his favourite food. I realise some things they were in control of and some weren’t and it just wasn’t an overall OMG that place was amazing kind of night for us. I deducted the two stars for being under seasoned not the other things. I wish them all the best in the future and seems they deliver to 90% Of their guests which is still amazing, go and try...
Read moreI had out of town company and although I have frequented many great restaurants in Sarasota I wanted to go someplace I haven't been. My guest wanted to treat me so money wasn't the object. We chose this restaurant because I wanted a good steak. First of all I made reservations on line on their web site which switched me to open table. When we arrived they had no record of my reservation and were frustrated when I insisted I had made it. Finally he took my name and telephone # and seated us up an incline into a room that was completely empty. I mentioned that and the waiter assured me it would fill up soon. Where we were seated was off the bar area and there were a couple of loud women laughing so loud at the bartender it was off putting to say the least. Then came the people the waiter said would fill the room. They came in dressed like they were outside at Marina Jacks in cut offs and tee shirts. We were dressed for fine dining. Our steaks arrived and we began to eat and my steak was tough to chew (filet) and had no flavor at all. My host thought she got mine because mine appeared more rare so we switched. She couldn't eat it either. We called the waiter over and all he said was "What do you want me to do? " Then asked if we wanted another one and we were so disappointed by this time, we said yes. By the time it arrived we were no longer hungry so we took it to go. In all fairness we had two managers come over to apologize and check to see if we were happy so we ordered desert to go and paid our check and left after expressing our disappointment. As we were leaving I saw the beautiful quiet looking dining room downstairs that I had hoped my reservations would have been in and we chalked it up to one of those bad times you get occasionally. Although they tried to make it right, I felt like many times women are treated differently than couples. We were made to feel less than welcome from the beginning as if we just came off the street without a reservation. My friend and I tip well and know that servers need their income. The bottom line is I don't think I would recommend the restaurant as a five star or probably ever go there again. We all have bad experiences but at their prices it would be "iffy"...
