I went to Wicked Cantina in Sarasota for the first time recently. First impressions matter, and in this case, it was a very poor one. I can't imagine ever going back there again. I chose to sit at the bar, where I was the only customer. I was greeted relatively quickly, and ordered right away, as I already knew what I wanted. I ordered the taco salad, and even had a bit of a conversation with the bartender about getting chicken instead of ground beef on the salad. I had one drink, and would have had another, but the bartender, who complained directly to me about being the only one on at the bar because her manager had sent her co worker home, did not check back with me for some time, only to then apologise for "neglecting me." I was the only customer at the bar. I also learned from her that her manager wanted her to clock out by 11:30, but that was impossible due to all the work she had to do, and that she would be there until at least midnight. I'm really not sure I needed to know any of that. About 35 minutes after I had ordered my dinner, the bartender checked with me to see if I needed anything else. At that point I asked if my food was going to be much longer. She looked at me, was confused for a moment not seeming to even remember that I had ordered, and then relaized she had never put the order in the system. She stated "with all that's going on, I must have forgotten to put your order in." I really don't like to single out one individual staff member, but I am unclear as to why this bartender, with an empty bar, and an only semi busy dining room, was overwhelmed by "all that's going on", which was basically only the...
Read moreI was really looking forward to having dinner with friends, we arrived at the restaurant, I asked a friend if they have been here before she commented her husband told her about this place (he was there for a work lunch) He told her not to go but she needed to know why he said that, so we went, it was about 4pm, we got settled at a table it seem a bit interesting, we order drinks (teas an waters) when the drink came to the table, we ordered food,, that is when our great day went to hell!! She gave us a dirty look, laughed and walked away, we didn’t eat the salads, we ordered chicken tacos, the waitress asked why didn’t we eat the salads We told her we don’t eat beef, she made a vary vary rude comment so we canceled the tacos and asked for a check, we was charged 75.00 for three salads we couldn’t eat and water(two of us ordered teas we never got) the tip was already fill out for us, and of course the manager was not available,.the next day for breakfast more friend sat with us we asked them if they ate there, they told us about the same thing, they got there order but never got there drinks and for two orders of taco they got a bill for 64.00 it had a 25.00 tip add for them.. Read moreThis is the first time I’ve ever walked out of a restaurant or left a bad review on Google. I have eaten here previously with a group and they mixed up orders and brought some people’s food a good 15 minutes before the rest of the group. Regardless, we tipped well and thanked them. Tonight we had a party of four. The waiter had many tables. I order a TexMex bowl and asked for sauce and Jalapeños on the side. When he brought me my order it was missing avocados, tortilla strips and the jalapeños and sauce were on it. When he came back I explained that the order seemed to be wrong. He apologized and said he would fix it. He confirmed sauce and jalapeños on the side. I told him to make it easy, just put the jalapeños on the side. When my order was brought to me (not sure by whom, but not the waiter), it was a bowl of rice and meat with tiny cups of everything on the side. He asked if it was ok. I looked at him and said, “I guess you didn’t understand the order. I just wanted Jalapeños on the side.. . . “ As I started to say, “But it’s fine….” He rudely pulled the plate away saying, “I’m perfectly capable of understanding the order.” He stormed off with the food. My whole party was stunned. I don’t know if he was a manager or expediter. Regardless, I didn’t think I could muster seeking out whoever was in charge. I apologized to my party and left. Won’t...
