Centennial Park — Attraction in Sarasota

Life time sarasota tax paying citizen 50 years plus. That being said . Why does the city allow businesses to operate from a public park 🤔 they pick up and drop off their clients thus taking up PUBLIC parking that would have otherwise been available for families with boats that we also pay the state/city to register . I think someone needs to start a petition regarding the businesses operating from public parks. This is a nice park on the waterfront near the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. It has restrooms and a boat ramp with ample parking. The big attraction for us as we come here every time we're in Sarasota is watching the pelicans in the little inlet beside the park. They rise out of the water and dive back into it catching a fish for a meal nearly every time. After they've done that a few times, their feathers get too wet so they sit in the sun to dry them. The parking system is rigged as a money grab by Sarasota’s woke policy makers. There is practically no single car parking for public boat “passengers”. So they either charge for parking (maybe a dozen spots) or they ticket you $35 if you are not parked in the designated 12 spots. It’s a real scam.
