The Inn at Sarasota Bay Club — Local services in Sarasota

When my mom was being discharged from the hospital to a rehab, the social worker touted The Inn at Sarasota Bay club as the best. Perhaps this raised my hopes too much; I was unprepared for the lack of care an attention she received there. There was no MD or Nurse Practitioner on duty over the weekend to evaluate and provide a continuity of plan, including giving of pain medication. No one explained to my mom or me that she would not be receiving pain meds unless she requested them. Consequently, she suffered all night. Additionally, she was not allowed to get out of bed until PT evaluated the next day. She was supposed to get ice packs four times a day, which did not get ordered until the NP came on Monday. The hands-on nursing staff was courteous but overworked which meant mom waited for more than a half hour to be escorted to the bathroom, and had to sit there when done for as long--no one was around to answer her call.

The building is clean and the food was plentiful but cold. Dietary requests to the kitchen were ignored. The nursing staff did what they could to accommodate her requests for juice and coffee, but they were overworked.

The Inn and Bayshore Place at Sarasota Bay Club were beyond amazing over the past year caring for my grandfather. Our first experience was in rehab. The rehab team is top notch A+. Following rehab we were able to move Grandpa to the Bayshore Place ALF at The Inn. In Bayshore Grandpa enjoyed the activities and having breakfast with “his girls” every morning. There came a point when Grandpa needed more care and hospice services, we transferred him over to the skilled nursing unit at The Inn where the caring staff met his every need until he peacefully passed. Me and my family will always be grateful to the staff at The Inn and Bayshore Place at Sarasota Bay Club. One star is too much!!! I placed my mom here for rehab and that was good 5x week. The administration staff did nothing but lie about my mom falling at rehab and breaking her ankle, they lied and were not attentive to her needs very sad for a place where they say that they have a doctor on staff and never sees you at bedside almost had to call 911 just to have the ankle looked at and xrayed!.. just a hot mess everyone on their cell phones . They never answer calls or emails medication not given for over 2 months! Don't put your loved one here that is all I have to say! They could care less about you its all about the money 💰! Administration is by far the worst I have...
