Since only 2016.the center for hope has become the center of a JOKE!.. REALLY... ???? This place has gone so downhill and now is utterly useless since they steamrolled and ruined Dr David Suttons career over here at to which he was acquitted of and was never proven! I feel sorry for the homeless in sarasota because they, like myself have no opportunity there anymore. That program saved my life many years ago. now they don't do meals, no more shelter for those who need it, or even want it.. plus that jerk Tony(amd whoever is still there to this day... doesn't have a bone of compassion in his body! They seriously need to wake up and start serving the community again .. NOT CATERING TO THEIR POCKETBOOKS! I used to say I loved that salvation army. I have so many good memories there.. but now it's an absolute disgusting disgrace. And I personally will be calling divisional headquarters to see if there is anything AND I MEAN ANYTHING to get it back to being the beautiful place it once was! I'm crying writing this because it hurts so much. Long live the ones WHO ACTUALLY CARE AT S.A. They seem to be few and far between...
Read moreLiars and backstabbers. I got in Thursday was Friday I was talking to this guy that runs this other program called the street team. I was suppose to be helping cleaning areas of Sarasota for three hours and I was going to get the help of finding a job and get rehousing after my two week probation as long as I obey and comply with the rules. Except. The director was making up lies about me and all around just giving me a hard time. These people are dirty. Don't give them an inch of this place. Now I am homeless again and I have to find another shelter?! That shelter is awful. They don't really want to help anyone they act like they care and they are already want to give up on you just after they put in some hope in you?! I am now having to find another shelter but in a different location of...
Read moreI stayed there for my 10 free days in 2006. While there I was offered a job in laundry...I took the job and begun living in a dorm. I gotta say it was a pretty cool experience for me as I was in Sarasota on a voyage of self discovery...just tryin to lose some weight and get myself together. I worked till like 9am then I had the rest of the day to spend at Lido Key or Siesta Beach...whatever I wanted to do. They took my rent outta my pay...and the staff was pretty cool. Todd was probably the coolest dude there..he was my boss... the director of the place was a brilliant fellow, just cant remember his name right now. I've seen many people finish programs there and quite a few of em seemed to really have gotten something from it. Best Salvation Army I ever stayed at during my travels. I...
