Asian River — Restaurant in Savannah

We went here tonight to celebrate my sister birthday. What was supposed to be a celebration turn into a nightmare. We have been to Asian River many times and always had great service but tonight was far from that. Our waiter (the owner) was horrible. We did make the joke at table he had to have been the manager, the cook or something else because in the middle of him taking out order he kept running off and then come back to finish taking out order.( first rude thing but we let it go) After completing our order we received our food which wasnt a long wait, but here's the kicker. He came back to check on us 30 minutes later ( while we sat there looking around for him) where he then learn our he gave us the wrong order. We also ask him for refills for our drink. He grab the plate and said ok. He brought the right food out this time and we reminded him about the refills for our drinks (second time asking for refills) and ask for a fork be we were short one. he ran off again to go get is refills so we thought. 30 minutes later he returns without our drinks after we ask the other waitress if she knew where he was. We then ask him for refills again for the 3rd time also my sister told him that her dish was too salty for he said " no it's not usually people say its too sweet" she told him again it was too salty for and again he told it was not eventually she tells she doesnt want that dish. So he took that plate, she wasnt upset because she order the all you can eat but they do have a firm rule you have to eat it all. ( fyi we took a fork from off the other table once we realized he was going to be a wait) Anyway a hour later we see him walk from the back we got his attention and ask for the checks in the mix of figuring out how we were going to pay he told my sister that she was being charge for the food she didnt eat. He went on telling us about how "such and such cost $300 and this cost $100 and on and on so $23 is nothing"... I got up from the table and walk over the cashier area and ask for the manager thats when I learning the shocking news that our waiter was not just an overworked underpaid employee he was the owner of Asian River. Never will I go back to a place like that imagine if thats how you treat your customers how you treat your employees. He was so argumentative about everything. P.S. we never got our refills 2...

The waitress Keira was just shy of being hostile to me and my girlfriend. It would take an insane amount of time to receive utensils to even eat, napkins to wipe with, refills on water, and eventually our check. When we did ask for these items she would stare at us as if what we asked was ludicrous of her to do. She definitely stuck around after receiving the check however, and stood at our table with clear expectation for me to hand her a tip. My girlfriend and I had agreed beforehand her attitude and behavior didn’t warrant a tip, so for her to be standing there staring at us was insanely uncomfortable. Then when neither of us moved or engaged in conversation she broke the silence by saying that we could directly hand our tip to her. Not wanting to cause a scene, we left an extra dollar on the change that was left from the original payment and handed it off. Then she counted it right in front of us, then paused before departing. I had never felt so uncomfortable at this restaurant before, which used to be a special place for celebratory occasions, but we won’t...

Im usually a huge fan of this restaurant, the food is great, the bubble tea is great, service is usually great.

Today our waitress was very kind, however, I ordered a taro bubble tea (a drink I love that I’ve ordered here many times) and it was extremely sour and undrinkable. I only had one small sip and the cup was full. I assumed some mistake had occurred and that they would be quick to amend the problem by making a fresh one or refunding me for the drink.

I tried to let my waitress know the next time she came by and she told me she would alert the manager. Upon her return she just said that they checked the milk and it was fine so there was nothing they could do. After a long awkward silence and my decision to not bother arguing, I left $6 poorer for a dirty sock bubble tea that would have made me sick if I drank it.
