Where do i start with this review??
First off I’ll rate the food then I’ll get into the service. I ordered the gluten free pancakes and a side of eggs. I had 1 pancake which was not bad for being gluten free. I can get used to how they taste. Lastly, the eggs are perfect. They taste really creamy and were cooked to my liking! Kudos for the food and the timing on the meal.
Now to discuss a huge issue that could potentially hurt someone or get an establishment like this one sued and in the news with terrible negative press.
My conversation with the waitress goes like this: Me: do you have gluten free pancakes Waitress: yes we do, you can choose any option and have them gluten free. Me: will these also be dairy free as well I CANT HAVE DAIRY PRODUCTS waitress: yes gluten free and dairy free Me: are you sure they are dairy free as well Waitress: yes gluten free is dairy free
Now right here i should have corrected her, but being as that’s a very rude thing to do, I did not correct her and i assumed she was experienced enough to know her products and when a customer asks for gluten or dairy free items it’s for a serious reason. Gluten and dairy free isn’t a fad, it’s a lifestyle change most people have to make in order to digest food properly.
I ate one pancake and I instantly knew it had dairy in it. At this point I’m afraid for what’s going to happen with me later today, but I’m more furious at this establishment for not being aware. So when the receipt comes out it says “Buttermilk Gluten Free Pancakes” I kept this part for legal reasons.
I mentioned to her again, these have dairy, she said no they don’t we just ring them like that. I said I need to be reassured they are dairy free. So this time she runs to grab who is apparently the owner. He comes to show me the ingredients on his phone and it clearly states MILK! I’m livid at this point. I asked him to remove the pancakes from my bill and that i was concerned i would get sick.
He takes $5 off! Now this tells me he had no empathy for his customers or any hospitality training! He’s all about the money! I got up and asked his name, and very condescendingly said Brian! I said Brian, do you understand how costly of a mistake this is?
Here’s where is arrogance stepped in and he no longer was the owner, he was a defensive egotistical man who knew he was wrong and did nothing to fix the issue!
He mentioned to me, the pancakes have dairy, i said don’t you think that’s a costly mistake, he said I’ve been doing this for 25 years you can’t tell me anything.
Brian, so telling me that youve been doing this for 25 years only makes this situation worse. After 25 years of restaurant experience you mean to tell me you can’t train your staff well enough not to make a very costly mistake like that? So putting peoples lives at risk for a couple busks is your way of doing business? 25 years is what you have?
I’d like to say one thing, the eggs were good despite the digestive headache that’s following me now! Brian didn’t care that I might end up in the ER for something like this. You can’t give people things that will harm them! It’s unethical and quite frankly it’s against the law!
Brian I will reach out to corporate about this. I’m sure this is a franchise. I pray i don’t end up in the hospital either because that’s not a good thing for either of us.
I’ll never be back here unless my lawyer is present. I hope you learn to show some empathy when you make a mistake. Take ownership that’s something you learn in year 1 of...
Read moreI'm outside in the parking lot writing this as I type. I came here with my husband and kids because of the reviews and it was nearby my doctor's office. It was a lot of people with no mask (which they are entitled to) however we decided to do take out. It took about 10 minutes just to get “noticed”. The server told me she would be with me and walked off, she came back maybe 5 mins later and proceeded to take my order, while taking my order (I’m talking to her) she walks away again. Once she came back to continued my order she told me it would be 45 mins. I told her ok we will wait. We returned 30 mins; which we was cool with the food not be ready because she said 45 mins. Let's just say I waited more than 45 mins just to get cold food. I ask for the manager which they ignored my request until I saw the manager myself and ask if I may speak with her. They server whose name I will spare at this moment handed me a receipt with her own personal tip already account for, I ask if they do military discounts because on it being mentioned on their website she told me no, but turned around and gave someone else a military discount. Everytime I tried to ask the server a question or to let her know my food was cold she couldn't stay still to listen. There were her co workers complaining.anout her and how.shes all over the place who h shouldn't be done in front of customers. I came for food not to indulge in their workplace dilemma. Rolling of the eyes and signs of frustration is not good customer service. I ask for a refund and was only refunded the tip the server added. As I try to explain that I didn't want the food I wanted a full refund the manager walked away. I threw the food out and I will not be returning. Maybe I caught them on a busy day either way there should be a level of professionalism. I hope there's a cooperate office so I can file...
Read moreMade it a point to go here on our last morning in Savannah and chose this place over Denny’s and Waffle House and felt like we made the wrong choice. Upon entering the location- we waited a few minutes and after not being acknowledged by several waitresses that walked by we walked up to the counter where we were told to sit anywhere. We sat and after being given our menus waited a few minutes for the waitress (who was helping a few tables and there was another 2-3 standing around talking). We got our coffee first and then placed our order. My wife ordered a crepe, which came out uncooked and bacon (which she didn’t get initially) and I ordered an omelette with bacon and cheese and white toast, of which I got scrambled eggs (no cheese) a side of bacon and non toasted white bread- all cold by the way. We expressed to the waitress that the crepe cane out uncooked and that what I had ordered was not what I received. While apologetic- we could not understand how they messed up the order when the place was extremely slow and a lot of the staff standing around doing nothing. We asked for a manager who did come out and eliminated the bill for the experience and was apologetic. We were told that the door that we came in through was the side door and not the front door which is where the host is (an issue they could have addressed with the 3 waitresses standing around) and also stated that our waitress was new (but there was nothing complicated about our order). Definitely won’t be back here and will stick to Waffle House during my next...
