La Nopalera Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Savannah

This place was recommended by my coworkers. I tried planning a surprise dinner for my sister. I called ahead the day before, but I was told that they don't take reservations on the weekends because that's when they're at their busiest. Whoever answered the phone did tell me that they would probably be able to seat a party of 10 once we all got there.... so, much for the surprise 🙄 However, I did try talk to the manager once I got there and after explaining to him 5x that I was trying to surprise my sister and the rest of my party was 15 minutes behind us, he finally got us seated. I tried telling him that I wanted him to seat us at a smaller table but get a larger table together for my party, who was on the way. Anyway, we were seated, and to my horror, the server kept trying to get us to move to a smaller table. After ordering drinks, the secret birthday party members began to arrive. So, I was able to pull it off, but I wouldn't suggest anyone try to pull this same surprise 😆 In any case, my Blueberry Margarita was great. Everyone enjoyed their food, and the serving crew even came out with tequila and bid my sister a Happy Birthday. This place was really lively and they had quite a few birthday parties there. We all joined in to giving other patrons birthday wishes. This is a great place to meet up with friends, go on a date or even solo. I plan on coming back to sample some more...

I've been here several times with friends and family and have enjoyed the food. The final and last time I went we discovered a long strand of a metal scouring pad in my daughters taco. Inside a wad of meat, in the beef taco. Our waiter had already taken forever to get our drink order and then still messed up our meal order even though he said it correctly. He assumed I wanted chicken even though I said beef chimichangas twice over. So after discovering the metal strand it took the longest time for anyone to come near our table and to get someone's attention. He was confused when we pointed out what we found and had it on the table for him to see. He calls another waitress over and she brushes it off as it accidentally got in it and proceeds to bring us another. What restaurant mixes raw beef in or around a sink? That's the only way a piece of scouring pad could get into the meat and be cooked in a wad. I know it wasn't intentional but that is just ridiculous and harmful. We warned friends and none of us will be back to eat here.

Probably this place is good for dinne in. By others reviews. We had great expectations. Absolutely NOT for delivery. First I don't know what's wrong with Savannah's avocados, second time in same day we receive dark avocado in a dish😣😣 Our orders arrived all messed up. Dripping juices came out of the metal dish with paper cover. The person in charge of packing our food is terrible! They put in the bottom of the bag the dishes with the drippin juices from shrimp and Molcajete. And my suggestion is never, never, ever ask for chips and cheese dip from this place. I can't believe they send the chips already covered in the cheese dip!! Horrible chips all soggy! Isn't that hard to figure out to place them in separate containers. 😥😥 Taste of food in general was okay. Notice this a tex-mex restaurant not a Traditional Mexican Restaurant.
