We gave stayed at many Wyndham locations in the past, so we thought this Days Inn would be a good choice. The pictures online made the property seem nice. When we reserved the room, we noted that we had 4 people staying. When we arrived after a long hot drive and went to our room, we had 2 bath towels, no hand towels, and no washcloths. I asked for towels and was given 2 more bath towels, 1 hand towel, and 2 washcloth.||When we went to bed, we had more disappointment. The pillows were hard and well-used. The sheets had hair inside and were stained. Our comforter had cigarette burns. the cover at the end of the bed was stained. ||Housekeeping is only being provided at this location upon request. This is posted, but I missed the sign. I asked to have our room cleaned on Wednesday, including fresh towels AND changing the stained linens. When we returned, again we had two bath towels. Despite the fact that the tiny bars of soap we were given (2 for 4 people) were used up, no soap was left. The linens burned with with cigarettes had not been changed, nor the cover at the end of the bed. This location has vinyl floors and the floor was not swept, the sink was not wiped, and the tub was not clean (dirty when we got there). The lack of supplies necessitated another trip to the office for towels, soap, and garbage bags.||On our fifth day, I again asked for cleaning to include fresh towels for four people. I went as far as leaving a list in the room to make sure it was cleaned adequately. I though the lady at the counter understood what I said, as she asked me to bring our dirty towels to the laundry room, which I did. When we returned at the end of the day, our room had not been cleaned at all. The room was exactly how we left it, including no towels (because I had sent them to the laundry). I believe this may have been due to a language barrier as the women I spoke to did not speak or understand language well. ||On our last morning, we got up very early to go the airport. When I turned on the light, I saw a roach scurry up the wall. We also killed several earwig-type bugs during our stay.||The breakfast provide is pretty sparse. We had the option of waffles, cereal, oatmeal, or watery eggs and sausage. Stale bread was provided for toast. Beverages were water, milk or coffee. ||The pool is in need of repair. The finish of the pool is worn off one side, which made us reluctant to use it. No towels are provided for the pool. ||As a person who is allergic to cigarette smoke, a smoke free environment is important to me. In addition to the cigarette-burned linens, someone was standing in the doorway of a room on the 2nd floor smoking. In a place with thin walls, smoke travels. ||The best thing about this hotel was the location, which was central to all of our activities. This hotel has so much potential. If the facility would provide high quality, clean linens and adequate towels, as well as maintain and clean the facilities, it would be a delightful place to stay. In its current state, I could not recommend this...
Read moreOctober 3, 2024 I called ahead and verified they have wheelchair accessible rooms with roll in showers I was told yes, and I was also told It was ok to book the room on booking.com since they had a better price. October 3,2024 at 4:42pm I prepaid for a wheelchair accessible room with a roll in shower, I also called several times before arriving to make sure they understood I have to have the roll in shower. The girl with a heavy accent at front desk kept telling me I don't have to keep calling and that it's in my reservation, and the last time I called to re-confirm she said to stop calling and hung up on me. I tried to explain to her that three different hotels I booked I have asked for roll in shower just to get there and they say it's not available even though I prepaid for the room. My husband and I traveled by car from Toledo, Oh to Savannah Ga and when I went to check in I was told my room was given away and the girl at the front desk was laughing saying well you should have answered your phone. I asked her what she meant, she told me because I didn't answer my phone at 12:30 the afternoon of my arrival to verify i really needed the roll in shower they gave it to someone else. I started crying and told her I had personally talked to her several times before arriving that I had to have the roll in shower because my husband is paralyzed, she just kept laughing at me! I was told there was nothing she could do for me until the manager came in at 7am so I requested the manager to come to my room at 7am (she never did). I finally found the manager @ 10am, she also thought the situation was funny, she refused to help me find another room nearby with a roll in shower. Her solution to the problem was to tell me she will refund my stay and told me to leave (I have her nasty behavior recorded). I have called, and sent several e-mails to the hotel and to Wyndham and still to this day (12/16/2024) I'm still waiting for my refund! UPDATE Today is Jan 15,2025 and I still have not received my refund!! The hotel has caller id and won't answer my calls and won't answer calls from...
Read moreI am a guest here and will check-out shortly. I stayed two nights and I have been most pleased. The staff are all friendly and professional. The place is quite clean and comfortable. They do a nice job for breakfast, with scrambled eggs, sausage, real waffles, yogart, apples, juice, and coffee. The coffee is available 24-7 in the lobby.
The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. It has a large flatscreen TV with lots of channels. The AC is efficient and has a digital thermostat. The room has a nice sized refrigerator with a small freezer. There is also a nice little microwave oven and a coffee maker with complimentary coffee. The Wi-Fi is adequately fast with a strong signal.
There is a free shuttle to Historic Savannah Downtown, but I think it is for guests who will be taking the Historic Savannah Trolley Tour. I took that shuttle and the trolly tour yesterday, and I was highly impressed.
As an added comfort, Days Inn has a small pool to cool off in on these hot days.
There's a highly rated buffet restaurant next door, which I didn't try. However, I did dine very well at a nearby seafood restaurant, Fiddler's Seafood Hut. They have a full bar and very good seafood. There is also a nearby Bonefish Restaurant that gets good reviews and a nearby Red Lobster.
Best of all; the rates are most reasonable. I was charged $65 for Saturday night and $45 for Sunday night ($55 average).
My only quibble is that the bathtub in the room had no drain-stop; so taking a bath is impossible. The shower works fine.
Dollar for dollar, Days Inn Savannah Midtown far exceeds any other offering that I came across in...
