We stayed here for a few days as a stop-over on our drive to Florida to visit family. Our stay was average - a clean but dated room, a nice swimming pool, and a good hot breakfast each morning. It was good enough for a few days as a place to rest after exploring the city. My review would’ve been better if it wasn’t for all of the issues I’ve dealt with since we checked out. Unfortunately, we accidentally left behind some belongings in our room when we checked out. The hotel didn’t bother to call us to let us know that we had forgotten items; instead, they sent us an automated text message that we didn’t see until we were 4 hours away because we were driving. When I finally got in contact with the front desk staff, they said the manager would ship us our items since we were too far away to come pick them up as long as we paid for the cost of shipping. I was more than willing to pay for the shipping and was very grateful that they were willing to do this for us. However, we checked out 8 days ago, and every day since, I’ve been told by the front desk staff that the manager would be mailing our forgotten items that day, but each day he hasn’t mailed them. When I’ve asked to speak to the manager directly to see if there’s anything I could do to make the process easier and quicker, I’ve been told he isn’t available to talk and I was even hung up on. There is obviously some miscommunication happening between the staff and manager, and it’s caused me to either be lied to or given wrong information by staff. I’ve been rushed off the phone very rudely by staff every time I’ve called to find out what is happening with our forgotten items and if they’re still being mailed to us. I feel like my forgotten items are being held hostage by this hotel for some unknown reason. I also don’t understand why the manager is never available and is obviously unwilling to ship our items to us. It was our mistake to leave them, and if they’re not willing to ship forgotten items, I wish this hotel just would’ve been upfront with us from the beginning instead of causing all of these issues for us. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone because the management and staff are incompetent and rude, but if you have to stay here, be very cautious with...
Read moreHaven't stayed yet. I made reservations Nov. 12 for Thanksgiving and Nov. 25 directly through the hotel. When I asked the employee if I could get a military or senior discount she became flippant with me and said I should be happy that I was getting a room, there was only 2 rooms left. She then told me I had till Nov. 23 to cancel and get a refund. The ad on line shows that their prices are comparable to using Priceline, etc. and that they do offer senior discounts when you book directly. My better half went online and found it much cheaper and more variety of rooms available for the same days so we rebooked through Expedia at the same exact hotel and days on Nov. 13 and I cancelled the first reservation promptly after he made this new reservation, which was 10 days before the Nov. 23 deadline. So then I received an email from the hotel and they only refunded me for one day of the two and charged me for one day plus tax! I checked my credit card and it only showed a 50% discount! None of this was explained when I made the reservation or when I cancelled the reservation. I called the service number associated with the refund text asking for an explanation and get the overcharge corrected. She put me on hold and called the Savannah Best Western to get an answer. While on hold, the Best Western sent me an email stating that they are only refunding me for the one day and also charging me the tax for one day. The service rep then got back on the phone with me and said the hotel is considering my request and will take up to four days to decide. Well I am not happy about spending my holiday at a business with such uncaring business practices. I will never stay at any Best Western again after next week. I was overcharged more than $240. Their free breakfast will never make up for that. I feel this mistreatment is indicative of how our country and society has been in total decline the past two years. Profit over customer service and building relationships. Happy...
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE! The staff (Tanya) is the most unpleasant, unprofessional racist person I have ever dealt with. From the minute I checked in Tanya was mad and giving attitude. It was super obvious she was racist against hispanics. I asked for a room in the front I was told they do not have any available, (even though there were five cars parked in the entire Hotel). We get to the room and the bed had been slept in. I took images and tried to show her and she just ignored me. Tried to switch rooms and she gave more attitude. After switching she went to first room just to prove a point. She then came back to us already in the second room to pick another fight when we even had pictures of the slept in bed. We told her we would not have any problem going to first room if the sheets would be changed and she said to bad I don't change sheets. We told her we would like corporates number because her attitude was horrible and she told us to google it. After all these unpleasantries we did not even feel safe staying at this hotel, or leaving our belongings there. We did not know what this person was capable of so we had to leave. Although we spoke to Corporate Best Western customer relations every step of the way even that night they denied giving me my full refund even though they knew we never stayed the night. Best Western customer relations said they are just the middle man and that the regional manager would call me and that I should just wait in hotel although the situation was obviously escalating. The regional never called. I called again and they said they will try again. Its been 4 days I am still waiting. Not only did the staff at Best Western fail miserably but so did their customer relations team. With so many choices why would I ever go to a Best Western again when it is so clear they do not care about...
