In October of 2021, my husband and I went to IDC in hopes to find a band that would compliment my engagement ring, as I have been looking for many years. We were treated with such patience and experienced great customer service after explaining what experiences we had faced at other retailers. We ordered my band and also had my engagement ring serviced. We paid cash and the experience was wonderful. After a few months, I decided to bring my rings back in to have them soldered into one. I was told that my ring would be completed by the 26th (1 week) and paid for the service upfront because I was expecting that same level of service as I had experienced before. On the 26th, I called to make sure my ring was complete since it is a 40 min drive one way from our home just to be put on hold for 16 minutes. I hung up and called back and explained that I just wanted to check to see if my ring was available and had been holding. I was again put on hold for another 6-7 minutes. I hung up and called back and when I finally was able to speak to someone, I was told that my service had not been started (although the ring had been there a week) and that the jeweler hopes it would be finished that day. I was told I would get a call either way by the end of the day to update me. When I did not hear from someone by mid-day the next day, I called again and asked to check the status. I was told "It's ready" and was abruptly hung up on. We made the 40 minute drive and entered a packed store, being told they were having a "jewelry event" and that they would be with us as soon as they could. We understood, browsed around and waited patiently by the door. After about 30-40 minutes, my husband caught someone walking by without a customer and told them that we were just here to pick up and asked if someone could just help us for just a moment as there were several employees walking in and out but not with customers. The gentleman didn't even stop walking to answer him. He said over his shoulder that someone would be with us when they could. At that moment, I was expressing my displeasure to my husband when a store manager over heard me and asked me if there was an issue and I said "I just want to pick up my ring!" He then began to mock me in front of everyone, throwing his hands up in a defensive manner and I replied that I just haven't had a very good experience with their customer service over the weekend. As the store manager, one would think that my dissatisfaction as an actual customer might be important but his response was to shrug his shoulders and say "Sorry, we're having an event." I explained that making a sale shouldn't be more important than helping someone who has already purchased and that I felt they were giving me bad service. If anyone would take one moment to listen, they would know all they had to do is hand me my ring. Again, he shrugged his shoulders and said "Sorry, we're having an event." Seeing that nothing I said was even registering with him, it took all but 1.5 minutes for him to hand me my ring and have my husband sign a piece of paper after waiting 45 minutes. We left with all the positive from our purchasing experience defeated by the service experience we received after. They advertise that they are non-commission sales people and that they operate differently than the chain stores but my experience shows otherwise. There was no customer service once the sale was made and for this, I will no longer recommend this company to anyone. And to the store manager who mocked me for being upset in front of your entire packed store, I hope you realize that you didn't make me look bad. You did that to your whole store, sales team and company. You showed those potential customers and vendors at your "jewelry event" just what is in store for them if they express dissatisfaction as well. This is what they...
Read moreHaving outstanding credit is great UNTIL... you go to buy a car or jewelry... My adventure started by going to 4 other jewelry stores to buy an engagement ring. This was supposed to be my Beyoncé moment and to finally put a ring on it, but this experience was beyond annoying. I've been in sales my whole life and I know the "Used Car" salesmen tricks to get a person to buy on emotion. I provided each with my budget and as soon as they found out my credit score they tried to sell me WAY out of my budget. One even tried to make me feel bad as I walked out the door for not buying a $23k ring and it felt great to tell him "NO". As I sat in my car after being insulted, I was so thankful for how I was raised to treat my customers with the upmost respect. I don't look at customers as only number and that's what I felt like going to these jewelers... I was just another notch to get their bonus over the holiday rush. At this point I was so frustrated and my next stop was International Diamond Center. As soon as I walked in the first person that introduced themselves to me I said I am here to buy, I know what I want and I will walk out that door if you try to go a penny over my budget. This representative was Gary and he calmly said that I would not be leaving unless it was with one of his rings. Needless to say, I don't feel bad for being so blunt as this experience up until this point almost had me at my breaking point and I was about to go with 25¢ ring-pop to just be done with this whole thing. Sandy came over and showed me exactly what I wanted and after talking with my insiders to make sure we got the perfect setup. The ring we decided to go with was over my budget, then with no haggling she did not go a penny over what I wanted to spend! Later I found out that they do not work on commission and that they are supposed to make this experience as least stressful as possible. Everyone was wonderful and did not pressure me to overspend - I am thankful that they listened and we'll be back for our his/her bands. They have a customer for life because...
Read moreTo say that I am pleased with the amazing service that my husband and I received at IDC is an understatement! We have had many other positive experiences at this store and have left prior reviews but this circumstance deserves a new raving review! My Husband purchased my engagement ring from IDC and it was one of the top designers. Unfortunately we have had many issues through the years with the ring and an incident ended up with us having to bring the ring back in, and that’s where I met Jennifer! From that very day she has been “Outstanding” on handling the entire situation. My ring had to be sent back to the designer for review and a warranty claim. She stayed on top of the whole process and kept us well informed. We ended up having to receive a warranty credit back to the store and pick out a new ring. As exciting as that can be to pick out something new, it was at the same time painstaking and emotional no longer having my original engagement ring. Once again, Jennifer was right there at my side with complete passion and understanding. She spent lots of time with us picking out a new ring on a few occasions. At their recent event, I finally found a ring that had the same detail qualities as my first. Looking back, this situation could have gone a lot differently and been way more difficult at any other establishment. It’s not every day that you walk in to a place that you purchased an item from years before and they still treat you as if you purchased it from them that very day. The amount of attention and understanding that we received is completely unheard of these days. The manner that our situation was handled was extremely professional, understanding and convenient. We will forever be IDC customers. Thank you Jennifer, James, Management & the...
