I LOVE the concept of this small business. I went to the one in Charleston and had a pretty good experience. The experience factors of the store is so cool! But they definitely need to do a better job of hiring / training staff.
I was so excited to visit this location. I went it yesterday Friday January 3 2025 to the bull street location and the girl behind the counter could not be LESS helpful. She was not knowledgeable, not engaging, not educating on the brand.
I didn’t even realize how it worked with the trays and such. Really terrible customer service.
After reading other reviews it’s very clear this small business has some major management issues. Take a note — you have to EDUCATE your staff on the brand and get them EXCITED to peddle your over priced chocolate. I could have easily been sold on the fantasy but instead it was lackluster.
Very sad because clearly the mind behind these chocolates is genius. They are really adorable and would make great gifts.
However I will say I’ve tried both the Charleston and now Savannah locations and the quality of the chocolate is not insanely delicious for me personally. Honestly I have had better tasting chocolate. They’re not bad. They’re just not phenomenal.
Hope this helps! Get...
Read moreWalking toward the river, I spotted the sign for chocolatier across the street and immediately decided to check it out. It was my first time visiting and even hearing about it, though I later learned it’s been around for years, with other locations in Savannah and Charleston.
The experience was delightful from the start. The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly, even sharing some of the space’s history with me. One of my favorite aspects was how interactive the shop felt. You’re given a tray—one that feels very old-world, almost like something out of 1800s posh London. It adds to the charm and makes the selection process feel special.
The store is divided into two sections: one where you can pick and curate your own assortment of chocolates and another with prepackaged selections. I opted for the “choose your own adventure” approach and was not disappointed. Every piece I tried was rich, flavorful, and beautifully crafted.
If I had one suggestion, it would be to improve sustainability efforts by replacing their plastic bags with a more recyclable or compostable option. Other than that, this was a wonderful experience, and I’d...
Read moreStuffy and disappointing experience. Came here from our hotel after watching the opening scene of Forest Gump- where he is literally a street away on a bench eating a box of chocolate. (In a orange ribbon bound white -chocolate box.) “MAMA SAID LIFE IS LIKE A BOX OF CHOCOLATES YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU’RE GONNA GET”- Realized this place doesn’t have a similar box of chocolates to sell. I suggested to the check out lady that they should sell a similar box from the movie. She said oh we would NEVER do that. Like i had just suggested the dumbest thing in the world. Pretty puzzling since this movie is on most people’s minds when you think of Savannah, GA. Besides the way you pick out your chocolate on the trays out of glass cases here, pretty comparable place to high end luxury chocolate vibed stores we have been to before around the east coast. Same gold coins, gold key hole pieces, gold bees….So enough with the 100% originality lie. Open your minds and you’ll make more money. Wouldn’t recommend bc such a negative...
