I ordered a BLT breakfast Sandwich (11.50) and asked to have the pico and lettuce removed. Instead I was charged $9.50 for a classic breakfast sandwich with an additional charge of $2.75 to add gucamole to the sandwich, which I never told the person making my sandwich to make it that way (the words guacamole actually never left my lips) because I saw that it’d be cheaper to just get the BLT sandwich and remove two items (they already charge you for ice, I never expected to be charged .75 to remove two items from a sandwich also). I brought it to the attention of the cashier and she worked out my refund. She was extremely nice and actually refunded me the complete amount for the guacamole (which I explained to her that I didn’t need that done, just the .75 additional charge, it was the principal for me of the man who called my order to her intentionally making sure I was charged extra). As I stood quietly and patiently waiting for the situation to be rectified I noticed there was an option for feedback on the receipt which I assumed would go straight to the company, so I left the feedback letting them know how I was charged .75 to remove to items from my sandwich. The same man who made sure that I was overcharged came around the counter & addressed me immediately (he must be in charge of feedback too because not even 3 minutes had passed since I hit send on the feedback before he addressed me), I started explaining to him that I purposely ordered my sandwich the way that I had so that I wasn’t overcharged, he then cut me off midsentence and stated that the situation had been rectified and he wished I hadn’t left negative feedback, he then backtracked to state that, “I mean we do apologize for what happened, but you didn’t have to leave us negative”, I was in shock at this point so I ignored him, turned away from him, back to the cashier & proceeded to thank her for all she had done, & swiftly walked away to return to my seat. I’m actually still rattled by the encounter, but needless to say I will not be returning here unless customer service improves. The food is good, but honestly not worth the hassle I encountered.
update
The business did reach out to me promptly with an apology, & I feel that shows care & concern & a desire to retain a customer. So I would definitely consider returning here again, I will just steer clear of the gentleman who saw fit to address me about an honest review that was private and meant to enlighten the business on what...
Read moreDropped in for a quick breakfast because it was within steps to our air bnb. Website said there were scones & lattes. Asked what kind of scones and before I could finish asking was curtly told “we don’t have scones”. Not “sorry, we ran out” or “ sorry, we don’t have any today”. There were croissants, danish and muffins in a display case that was so covered in condensation we could barely see what was in there & nothing was identified. The blond woman with glasses at the counter seemed very annoyed we were asking what was what. (Elbow on counter propping face on fist!). We each got a warmed up croissant, which may have been better but tasted as if heated in a microwave, making them a bit rubbery. Asked what type of muffin (thought maybe a brown sugar cinnamon) and if it had nuts since I’m allergic to pecans & walnuts. Told “I don’t know—everything comes in 1 box, bumps into the others—if you have a nut allergy…”. Food industry servers should ALWAYS know allergy info of the products they’re selling. The coffee was weak but the latte tasted good—although more foam than latte & no cinnamon (nor was I asked if I wanted any). Lastly, if you’re a regular or a male friend, you’ll get a smile and happy chatting. L Really sad since we will definitely be back in Savannah but will be letting our friends and family know to steer clear of this place. We also left a comment in the air...
Read moreFirst time at Java Burrito in Savannah. If you are a Chipotle fan, this place is NOT for you! The food tastes way better, the place is so clean! You know how you usually have to just pick the table that has the least amount of smudges, crumbs, and rice pieces? I mean because there is no such thing as a recently cleaned table at Chipotle? It's kinda weird at Java, all the tables were clean? We actually paused for a minute because we realized we could actually make a choice where we wanted to sit! Crazy? I know! Ok, the staff... nobody rolled their eyes at me, the guy making my bowl was so fast and happy to be there, I think his number one goal was to read my mind to be able to guess the next topping, because his number one goal was to be fast friendly and efficient. He actually made me feel like I just picked the very best bowl he has ever made! It didn't stop there, the cashier was so Chipotle too! After we ate, we had such a great experience, we felt a little off because we are used to just sucking it up and eating Chipolte. So we just beat each other up a little, pulled each other's hair, slapped each other around cussed at each other to make is feel a little more even, to balance out the usual bad experience from somewhere else. Thank you guys for a...
