It’s really sad that I’m writing a one star review for this place. This is literally my favorite place in Savannah. I come here, probably 23 times a week most of the time with my dog however, the first time I decide to go inside with my dog, the so-called manager grills me on paperwork for the service dog in the pouring rain. I run back to my car, get her the paperwork which is actually against the law according to the American disabilities act to request paperwork. I tell her that it’s against the law, she doesn’t care still forces me to get the paperwork, which I do I then I’m allowed inside the restaurant with my dog at which point one of the kind servers who works at the animal rescue gave me some water for the dog I accidentally forgot that it was on the floor since I was sitting so low on the couch and it was in between the bar. I accidentally knocked the water ball over when I went to have a cigarette, and I told her to please let me help her clean up the mess. She said I was still messing with her at this point, and then asked to see the manager at which point she was in tears for absolutely no other reason I can assume a mental bipolar issue. I literally refer hundreds of people here on a weekly basis. This is a sad day to have to write a bad review for this place, she then asked me to leave because I tried to help her clean up a mess. What a nonsense night just totally outlandish because she was having a bad day I couldn’t believe that she was the manager. It was shocking everyone else in that place is so wonderful and nice except for her and she refuse to give me her name but ask for my name so let’s lay all the cards out...
Read moreJANE THE OWNER BURNED MY TIP IN MY FACE! Story time. I would recommend going on a calm week night when Jane isn’t there. I’ve been here before and it’s been fine. But this Saturday I witnessed the most absurd things. So Jane is a partial owner. I had been waiting well over 30 minutes for a drink at this point. After I waited longer than all my friends for drinks she proceeded to ask , “Are you mad”. I reply saying I’ve just been waiting a while. After she didn’t check half of my friend’s IDs, she then says I need to show 2 IDs. I yell to my gf to hand me her passport. Jane then says, “i need a face with the ID.” Makes sense but like do it to everyone not just people you decide to. We were all the same age Jane. After that she then proceeds to go behind the bar and make it very obvious she’s talking rude about me, even though the only thing I said to her is that I’ve been waiting a while. I get my drink and the total was 19 something. I get her $6 worth of $2 dollar bills. One that’s good luck, and two that more than a 20% tip for her rude service. She then proceeds to tap my friend , says “tell your friend thanks for the bills”, and burns it in his face . This is a partial owner btw. I have been serving for 5 years and i would never think of doing that to anyone. That’s insane. Anyways I bring her another $2 dollar bill because I’m petty. She throws it back at my feet, doesn’t even let me know. You can’t be an owner and be insane . Go get...
Read moreI would strongly recommend avoiding this bar if visiting from abroad. I am a South Asian British man from London who attended Savoy Society with my partner after having passed by the bar earlier in the day. From the moment I arrived, I was made to feel uncomfortable by the tall, male bartender with long brown hair and a beard. He was generally rude and standoffish (which was particularly remarkable in the context of Savannah’s high standard of hospitality) when he deigned to interact with me at the bar. He made a point of then trying to serve several people who arrived after me, despite me already having engaged with him. Both sets of subsequent guests kindly corrected him by saying they thought I had been waiting longer. After recapturing his attention, he then informed me that they operated via table service - despite him previously acknowledging me standing at the bar to order - but he would “take my order anyway” from the bar. Having then gone to wait at a table with my partner, he arrived to state that I had not told him the specifics of the martini order (I had, twice), and proceeded to condescend on the minutiae of traditional martini accoutrements. I was on the fence about writing this review but, after reading previous feedback, I saw a strikingly similar review regarding a bartender of the same description and felt I should...
