I was extremely disappointed in my order at Te’Amo. I’m a big fan of Te’Amo’s boba and I was excited that one opened up in Schaumburg. It’s one of my favorite boba spots in Chinatown. There’s a reason why it’s always packed. However, my visit to this location did not live up to it’s expectations. The store was packed when I went on a Saturday.
The cashier was not accepting orders, so we had to use the two electronic kiosks in the store. I waited about 5 minutes to make my purchase. The line went fairly quick. My order came out very fast too. There were about less than a dozen or so employees working the store, so orders came out very fast. I was expecting a longer wait time with the amount of people in the store. The interior decor is simple and aesthetic, so I wasn’t going to be upset if I had to wait a bit longer.
The reason why I’m disappointed in my boba is that the tapioca was very hard. Te’Amo usually has very soft and chewy tapioca because they use organic ingredients. I love chewy, soft tapioca and that’s why I love going to Te’Amo. However, this time, that was not the case. It seemed like the store was run by young high school students who did not know how to properly cook tapioca. They did not cook it long enough. Thus, making it super hard. They probably just quickly cooked it due to the amount of customers they were having. However, the other Te’Amo locations also brings a lot of customers (usually more in the Chinatown location) and they never have that issue.
Besides the hard tapiocas, my matcha latte lacked flavor. It tasted like I was just drinking water. The bottle they put the boba was cute though. It was in the shape of a soda can that you have to open just like a soda. After they hand you the boba, you put your drink on a machine to seal the can, which is pretty cool.
The only reason why I’m giving this store an additional star when it deserves just one is because of its mochi donuts. I really enjoyed the black sesame donut. It was my favorite one. My least favorite was strawberry. However, I thought the mochi donuts were fairly average. If you want better ones, go to Donut Drop in Schaumburg. They rotate flavors every weekend and it’s locally...

Te'amo has excellent boba drinks that everyone can enjoy. So many flavor variations and you can control the % of sweetness that you want your drink to be.
Drinks are both kosher and halal as no gelatin is used to make the jellies and boba balls! The jelly sticks and boba are flavored differently. Today was strawberry and light rose flavors. No preservatives and all natural flavors means it's healthy for you too. Donuts are made fresh onsite daily. The matcha glaze was perfect and complimented my donut perfectly.
My "Teamo 02" was delicious and refreshing. The donuts are made with rice/soy flour which makes them light, airy and tasty.
Mario was very helpful and I took his recommendation. If you're not sure what drink to order, ask and they will be happy to guide you thru the flavor notes you're looking to hit!

Te’amo boba bar is a really fun and unique place to try. They are located in the Streets of Woodfield mall. The drinks are all natural, organic, personalized to you and they have a large variety of flavors to choose from. They vary from coffees, teas, and flavored drinks. The real crowning surprise is the matcha drinks! They use premium quality matcha that tastes out of this world. They also have mochi donuts which are really nice and chewy as they are made with rice flour. We had the matcha dalgona with boba, classic tea latte (sweetened with real cane sugar!), matcha and Oreo donuts. Excellent quality, taste and care into every item they serve! Very clean establishment with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating to relax and enjoy your...
Read moreI wish I could rate this at least 4 stars but unfortunately I made the mistake of ordering the Hong Kong Style Milk Tea and so I cannot give this anything higher than 2 stars. I'll start with the good: my friend ordered a rose match milk tea that was very delicious and I liked it a lot. the milk tea I got was also pretty tasty. BUT. it was NOT Hong Kong style milk tea. not even close. calling what I drank a "Hong Kong style milk tea" would be like calling a chocolate sponge cake a "fudge brownie". or scrambled eggs on toast a "French toast". or a fresh cucumber lightly brushed with vinegar a "pickle". or fresh napa cabbage sprinkled with gochugaru "kimchi". you get the idea. this is lightly brewed Ceylon tea with evaporated milk labeled as "Hong Kong style milk tea". and it is just not it. at all. not even close. it's so not close to Hong Kong style milk tea that it honestly feels appropriated, insulting to the culture. either take it off the menu or call it something else, because it is SO disrespectful to serve this drink labeled as Hong Kong style milk tea to patrons who mostly likely never have had it before, and now think that THIS is what the drink tastes like. I know this is a chain so they prolly won't do that, so at the very least to any customer coming here, please do not order this drink thinking that it is even marginally representative of Hong Kong's most beloved and staple drink. anyways, the other drinks are fine, however the cup size is tiny as hell and definitely over priced...
