I went here for the first time a few days ago and don't think I'll go back. I ordered the Melting Pot skillet, which was delicious but, unfortunately, was not even close to hot (except deep in the middle of the skillet). I took about two or three bites and was done because I can't think of anything worse than lukewarm food. The flavors were there, and it was cooked well (except the ham looked like it was just taken out a bag, chopped and thrown in, not browned first), but I didn't enjoy it until I took it home and reheated it. I got the skillet, which comes with a side (I got the French toast, which was also delicious!) for $12, which was a good buy to me. Sadly, I despise eating off of tattered and worn plastic, like the brown, chipped up, plastic "skillet" this meal comes in. The last straw, however, was the attitude of the waitress. As a former server, I always give them leniency (and very good tips when deserved); it is exhausting to serve ungrateful, rude diners, as servers do at least once a day. However, basic politeness, "thank you, you're welcome, no problem..." should never go out the window. Toward the end of the meal, I asked, "When you get a chance, may we have four small containers, please?" She didn't say one word, just turned and walked away. A few minutes later, she's walking toward us - with the containers in her hand - but decides to PASS OUR TABLE to check on the two other tables behind us first! As she's at one table, she puts my containers UNDER HER ARM so she can grab something off their table w/both hands. What in the world makes you think I want to put my food in the containers you just had under your sweaty, nasty, unsanitary armpits!? I left that first container behind, packed my food, paid, and got out, leaving a tip reflective of her service. I didn't really care for the way we were treated (it IS Indiana and I AM Black), and if I ever return, I'll simply order to go.

OMG we are still talking about this 6 months later!!! 3 of us Seniors just happened upon the place - we were visiting the area and going back to Illinois but wanted to stop for something to eat before getting on the highway. We saw this and have good memories of Round the Clock where we live but it is not there anymore. So we stopped. What we are still talking about was the price and the food - $6.95 for seniors for anything on the menu including full dinners - soup or salad, rolls, butter, entree, sides, drink and dessert. We kept asking - is it ok if we order this? (not believing) yes, $6.95. So we all 3 ate full dinners from salad to dessert, incl drinks and got a bill of $20.85 plus tax (and tip of course) for 3. It was good too. And we kept saying no wonder everyone is moving to Indiana LOL. Will be back. Additional Visit: Went back after COVID-19 a year later. Wasn't sure if the Senior Special would still be avail. and it was! Had meatloaf and pot roast dinners with rolls, butter, diet cokes, salad with blue cheese dressing, 2 sides (mashed potatoes and peas), coconut cream and cherry pie for dessert. See new photos.

The first time we went our waitress was VERY overwhelmed which affected our service. Decided to give it another try and it was still horrible! First when we went in the hostess could not understand my question in english, so she grabbed a waitress to translate to her. Then our food was horrible! My bacon was very over cooked and the toast wasn't even toast. My husband's steak was under cooked even though we asked for well well done. We had to send it back twice. The hot chocolate tasted like water, the coffee was cold. Lastly, while we were there an older lady got up to ask another waitress for something and that young girl started yelling at her for bothering her and not waiting....in front of what looked like the manager and he didn't even stop his employee or apologized to the customer. Disgusting I tell you! Definitely wasn't worth my $30!

This has been a comfort restaurant for me and my family for over 50 years. I don't know what has happened but it has gone SO downhill, this is not the round the clock I grew up with. Lemon Rice is a staple for any region native, and you cant find it anywhere but that area. My husband and I went twice in the last week and let me tell you how disappointing it is that the soup is now just lemon goo. There is MAYBE a whole 6 grains of rice per bowl. My tots came out still frozen and when I brought it the waitress attention (who didn't come back by until my husband was halfway done with his meal) she was just like oh, ok. She didn't even seem shocked it happened, no apology. What's disgusting is they brought me back the exact same plate of tots. It even had the tot I bit into on the plate still, they just threw my bitten food back in their deep fryer. Anyone in the industry knows that's a no no. On the other visit I made while in the area. I ordered a medium pepper jack burger. It came well done and completely flavorless. Both visits I aske for a side of ranch and it was nasty and watery. It also came with the lemon goo soup.

The service is also not great. I see they are holding open interviews and I understand staffing is difficult everywhere, but I know growing up they had staff who had been there 10, 20, 30+ years. Where have all those servers gone? It appears they replaced all of them with teenagers who just do not care. Both visits I had two different young ladies who never refilled drinks, checked the tables, nothing. Id have to flag them down for the check (or cold tots). I'm assuming there was a management change but they need to acquire some standards for their staff.

This place was such a huge part of my life growing up, my husband as well and its sad to see it go downhill this way. It used to be our first stop when we pulled into town but that...

I only have ONE BAD THING TO SAY....

For one, I absolutely love this place (aside from one female that works there)... the food is always good... if there is a mess up... it’s always fixed with no issues... all of the wait staff is so nice (especially Jann (I’m probably not spelling her name right. She works the late/early morning shift)

The issue I have with one employee is an older lady that works there. She was on the over night shift but now I guess she’s on the afternoon shift... She was always rude to me and other guest. Now keep in mind, I’m not some drunk kid that comes in late at night... we came in with some friends and she told us we couldn’t sit together because we never pay... how she came to that conclusion is beyond me... so we just went with what she wanted to do because we were all tired after working. My friend came up to talk to us and she came over YELLING “Didn’t I tell you, you can’t sit with them” at that point we asked for our checks and left. The server apologized for how we were treated. We did still come back after that even though we were always treated poorly by her... but we come back for the food and the wait staff!

I was there recently where she was going off on an employee that just seemed to have a bad day. I mean she didn’t even have the respect for your restaurant, the employee or the guest, to talk to the gentleman in private. Instead she belittled him in front of everyone and completely embarrassed him! She apparently made another table mad at how she was treating the employee, that the gentleman actually got up and went off on her and how disrespectful she is.

Every time I had an issue with her, I’d always leave a note for a manager to call me... but I’m assuming she just tossed the note.

Regardless of her... I think her name starts with an M... I’ll still return because the food and the staff never...
