Warning to larger parties This restaurant is not friendly to bigger groups. We had a party of 14 family members getting together to celebrate my daughter's 8th birthday. I called several weeks before the birthday and asked if this restaurant would take reservations. They said no, however, if I call at opening (7am) the day of we'd be able to be placed on the waitlist early and they would be able to easily accomodate us. The day of I called when they opened at 7 AM. And let them know that we had a party of 14 and we would be there at 11:15. They said that was absolutely fine. And although they were unable to take reservations, it would be no issue to get us seated in a timely manner. We arrived on time and checked in. They said they were working on the table. We checked back 30 minutes later and they said they are just waiting on some people to leave and that it should be any minute. We continued to check-in and be told that it was 10 to 15 more minutes for an hour and a 1/2!!! At this point I was very upset, they apparently only had a plan to sit us at one of 2 targer tables that they had already sat and apparently had no plan to put any other tables together for us. People kept coming in and were seated nearly immediately. The party of 4 was seated right before we got there at one big table and a party of 2 were seated DURING our wait at the other large table. Finally the 4 got up and left and by then, because we had waited so long, 2 of our party had to leave. So we were down to a party of 12, they sat us at a table that was meant for 10 and it was super tight with our 12, so there was no way that they could have ever accommodated a party at 14!!! I understand that there are no reservations and therefore I understand some of the wait but the mismanagement of tables and having a party of 4 seated at one large table, right before we showed up (knowing we were coming) and the party of 2 seated, while we were waiting!!! at the second large table, makes absolutely no sense. Then to top it off the manager was super rude to us acting like we were some kind of imposition to her and kept saying "well, because your party is so large, because your party is so large." Okay, you did not have to say that you would be able to accommodate us. Had you said from the start that you have no room for a party of 14 I would have gladly went somewhere else. Had you been honest from when we got there that it was going to be an hour plus we would have gone elsewhere. But the fact that we were continually told that we were able to be accommodated and that it was no problem and just a few more minutes. And then to act like we are some kind of imposition and make us wait an hour and 30 minutes when other people were getting tables immediately is just ridiculous. It was a huge waste of our time. Just be honest and up front. I will never be coming back there. My family will never be coming back there. And I will never bring any of my friends or suggest this restaurant to anyone ever again, it was completely ridiculous. There are plenty of other restaurants in Scottsdale that will and are used to accommodating larger parties. If you are looking for somewhere to celebrate- look...
Read moreParty of five, got here around 9:45. I went inside and there was a wait so I put our party on the wait list. I went to walk with my toddler as it was a 20-30 minute wait. I received the text message that the table was ready and walked back from the canal where the Christmas tree was. I walked inside to check in, and the host said "we texted you 9 minutes ago so we had to give up your table. We have to give it up after 5 minutes." My husband came up to me and said "the manager told us to leave because he didn't believe we had a reservation. They didn't give us menus, or silverware."
What happened when I was gone with my child was: The host told my parents and husband where to sit on the patio, meanwhile my parents are handicapped (dad has two half feet and walks with a cane, my mom has bad knees and hips.).
Some manager named Eric (or Aric) went up to them and told them they didn't have a reservation. My husband told him three times that we had a reservation with text confirmation for our table. The manager then told my family to get up and leave due to him believing that we didn't have a reservation. He made my parents sit on the curb outside of the beauty salon until they received confirmation even though my husband gave them my name and number and then they couldn't find my reservation.
This was super unprofessional, yet I understand people just come up and sit down, but he really should've used proper communication between the staff and himself in order to make sure we were meant to be here.
I probably won't come back here. That was super rude to handicapped humans and really unacceptable for someone to do as a manager. It's definitely not something I would've done considering I was once a manger.
Eric, or however you spell it, should be fired for said interaction. I'm just appalled. Ive never been treated in such a way, let...
Read moreWe arrived around 12p on a Saturday and it was about a 50 minute wait with placing ourselves on the wait list 20 minutes prior to arriving. We were sat in the center of the restaurant and initially our waitress came over to drop off water and said she'll be right back but then we didn't see her again until she brought the tab. It was difficult to get out waitress to notice us so a different waitress not serving our section came over to get our order and check on us. I ordered the Quick Start, iced chia, and the churro waffle while my partner got the regular waffle, pineapple breakfast soda, and he ordered the Quick Start as well but they delivered the Quick Start Loaded. The loaded version is a higher price but we didn't make a fuss as it already took a long time to be noticed and get our food and by then we were so hungry we'd eat anything. Both waffles were to die for. Mine was crunchy on the outside due to the cinnamon sugar and the ice cream on top just made it even better. The fresh fruit with the meals were delicious and ripe, bacon cooked crispy, and the eggs look and taste like a real egg. We both thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast but the only thing we both didn't like and couldn't finish was the breakfast soda. It tastes like a soda machine went bad. Very carbonated with barely any pineapple flavor and the flavor that was there tastes like the last watery bits you get from a pineapple can. I would definitely like to try this place again but not on such a...
