Gia at the front desk needs Jesus. & to the response at the owner, we need a refund for the 3 days we couldn't stay due to your unprofessional staff. We have a case number please contact me.
Despite my detailed account of the numerous issues encountered, I am disappointed that the hotel has refused to refund the charges for the three days we did NOT stay due to wrongful eviction. This feels like robbery.
During my stay at the W Scottsdale, I experienced significant issues that need to be addressed. The staff, specifically Gia at the front desk, were unprofessional and extremely rude when they wrongfully accused us of a noise complaint at 3am. This led to our eviction without adequate time to gather all of our belongings, forced to leave many behind. Additionally, the security guard's and Gia's actions violated several legal protections and consumer rights, including consumer protection laws, due process, fair business practices, and breach of contract for accommodations. The security personnel forced entry into our room, harassed my boyfriend and I, and made inappropriate comments, which made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe. This distressing experience went against all polices within legal and the hotel. As a result, we were evicted before they investigated the complaint, making us leave without retrieving all our items, leading to the loss of personal belongings, including designer items and clothing, and cash, which they later claimed not to find. To detail the sequence of events further, upon the initial accusation, my boyfriend and I were startled but cooperative, seeking to understand the basis of the complaint. However, the response from Gia and the security team was aggressive and unyielding. They insisted on immediate eviction without providing evidence or allowing us a fair chance to dispute the claim. This heavy-handed approach was not only unwarranted but also escalated a manageable situation into a traumatic experience. When we attempted to address these issues with Gia at the front desk the following morning, she was dismissive, unprofessional, and even laughed and smirked in our faces. She ignored our legal and safety concerns and our request for a refund, as we no longer could nor wanted to stay there due to the way we were wrongfully treated. Instead of listening to us, she gave her number to another guest during our conversation in a flirtatious manner. I was shocked by her audacity to interrupt our conversation to be inappropriate with another guest. Gia also refused to provide the names of the security guards involved and ignored our repeated requests for their names. When we requested a refund for the three remaining days of our reservation, Gia not only denied our request but also had security escort us out again, all while continuing to charge us over $1000 despite not staying the full duration. Our request for a refund was not just a financial concern but a plea for justice and acknowledgment of the mistreatment we endured. As loyal Marriott rewards members who loves the W Scottsdale, this incident has profoundly affected our trust in the W brand and Marriott as a whole. After being wrongfully evicted at 3am, we continued our stay at Caesars in Scottsdale that same night and it was remarkable, we will definitely be staying at this beautiful hotel going forward. They had 5 star staff that was supportive, empathetic and professional, unlike the deficiencies with Gia at the W Scottsdale. It is imperative that Gia’s conduct is reviewed, as her behavior is detrimental to the W’s reputation and contradicts the high standards of customer service that...
Read moreI come to Arizona at least once a month sometimes more for work and always have stated at the W, usually for proximity reasons. Its a great hotel that is clean, well kept and overall creates a nice experience.
Up until my last visit recently I have never had a complaint. Usually I am not one to comment about my stays at hotels since I have to travel so frequently or make a complaint in general, but I feel that my last stay justifies to be commented on.
On top of being in town for work it happen to fall on the time of my birthday. For that reason I decided to splurge on myself and reserved the Mega Suite for a long weekend with my girlfriend, I have heard great things about the room and was excited to experience it.
Unfortunately we arrived late Saturday night due to an expected change in flight schedules. When we tried to walk into the hotel, the security guard would not let us in and made us wait in the long line of people trying to get into the hotel who were most likely there to party at the bar and pool deck. This was non the less embarrassing waiting in the line of people holding our luggage at that late hour.
After finally getting into the hotel and before I could even check into the hotel I was told more than once that I would not be allowed up to the pool deck because I was wearing a T-Shirt. I had no previous intentions of going up there or had made any prior indications about doing so. I thought that was very rude and unprofessional.
The room was very nice looking and massive as expected. Though both sinks in the main bathroom were clogged. When I called to have them looked at, and was told someone would be there soon, no one ever came. On top of that, the carpet in the bed room was covered in stains as well as stains on the couch cushions and two of the trashcans were un-emptied We felt the impression that room had a lot of partying going on in it previously.
When I tried to check out of the hotel, the man working at the front desk literally said not more than eight words; "Do you want your bill emailed or printed?" There wasn't even the decency to ask If we enjoyed our stay or if we needed help with our bags or anything like that. There was another individual standing at the front desk next to him and had said nothing as well. She was directly looking at the both of us.
It is not the idea that I believe that just because I spend a significant amount of money on one of the largest rooms in the hotel that I should receive special treatment, but its more the principal of the fact of how we were treated. Which I felt was poorly and ignored. I felt that much of the staff I had spoken with during my stay there made my girlfriend and I feel as if it was a "Privilege" for us to be staying there.
This is an experience that I have never experienced in all the many times I have stayed at this property. But, I am sorry to say that it was a poor enough experience for me, to highly consider staying somewhere else when I come to the area again for work. Overall it was very...
Read moreRead other reviews! I wish I had. Everyone is correct in that this is for late night partying only— NOT a quiet or relaxing getaway stay.
We booked the W for 6 nights!! because of a special event my sister was participating in. I stayed here a couple years ago and had a good time, but overall am extremely disappointed this time. Great for a late night party spot but not a relaxing hotel stay.
Service: I called before our trip and requested a gift basket in the room. After assuring me it wasn’t a problem, it never happened.
$40 a night to valet park! or $20 a night to park at the lot across the street. That sucked staying here for a week!
Rooms: Paper thin walls. Construction was going on outside our room with the hammering starting at 6:30am and the heavy machinery starting promptly at 7am each morning (except Sat and Sun)
View: a construction site
It’s a late night club atmosphere. You can hear the music thumping (and lyrics!) until well passed midnight and a bar fight to boot. One guy we talked to there said he changed his room the first night and it got a “little better”. We were already fully unpacked so we just dealt with it, but no sleep for us. We turned the AC on, which added some white noise, and played soft music all night to drown out the sounds from outside.
You can hear right outside the hall; other doors opening/closing, conversations in the hallway, etc.
Beds and feather pillows are super soft so if you have back/neck issues, that probably won’t work for you.
The room’s toiletry selection has really gone downhill. It used to come with Bliss products that smelled amazing and now you get a bar of Ivory soap and some products that literally smell like an ashed cigar.
$11 for a bottle of water is insane. Pricing for all room products was nuts but the water was pretty comical.
Food: We only had lunch and dinner the first day, and tried breakfast the next morning. Food was OK - nothing spectacular- and service staff were nice, but not worth eating there. We went out for all our meals.
For the money, I definitely would not stay here again. I was hoping for a relaxed/calm vacation atmosphere and this is not the place for that. It’s great for a late night party or bar-hopping (if...
