A Wonderful Stay at Best Western Plus Sundial – Perfect for Families and Highly Recommend!
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Best Western Plus Sundial in Scottsdale, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about it. We brought the whole family along for this trip, so we needed multiple rooms, and from the moment we arrived, everything was just flawless. The staff made sure that all of our rooms were close together and perfectly set up, which made things so much easier for us. It’s clear that they really care about their guests and pay attention to every detail.
The hotel itself is beautiful. The grounds and buildings were absolutely spotless — I don’t think I saw a single thing out of place the entire time we were there. You can tell they put a lot of work into maintaining it. The lobby and lounge area were so welcoming and well-appointed, it was like a little oasis every time we came back from exploring Scottsdale. My family and I loved just hanging out there and unwinding — it was so cozy and comfortable.
And the pool area? Fabulous! We spent so much time there. It’s not only sparkling clean, but the perfect spot to relax after a day in the Arizona heat. The pool area is well-maintained and has plenty of comfortable seating, which made it ideal for both lounging and letting the kids splash around.
Our rooms were perfect too. The housekeeping staff did an outstanding job every single day. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed anywhere where the rooms were kept so consistently clean and well-stocked. They were also incredibly accommodating — anything we needed was handled quickly and with a smile. Having multiple rooms could’ve been a challenge, but they made it so seamless for us.
One of the highlights of our stay was definitely the breakfast. It was phenomenal! The variety was impressive — everything from delicious eggs, sausage, and potatoes to freshly toasted bagels with cream cheese, and even these homemade breakfast burritos that were to die for. Every morning, we were all excited to head down and eat. It was easily one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve ever had.
We were also blown away by the front desk service, especially from Shiv. He greeted us with the warmest smile every time we came back at the end of the day. Not only did he remember our names, but he also knew our room numbers, which made us feel so welcome. That personal touch really added to the experience and made us feel like more than just guests passing through.
But what really makes this place special is the owners. You could tell they were on-site constantly, making sure everything was running perfectly. Their attention to detail is just amazing — from how immaculate the hotel was, to the personal care they took in ensuring every guest was happy. They were always around, checking in, and you could feel how much pride they take in their hotel. It wasn’t just about keeping the place running smoothly, they truly cared about creating a great experience for everyone staying there. That kind of dedication is rare, and it really showed in everything from the upkeep of the property to the way they interacted with guests. Their hands-on approach made such a difference and gave the place a personal touch that you just don’t find in most hotels.
If you’re ever in Scottsdale, I highly recommend staying at the Best Western Plus Sundial. Whether you’re traveling with family or on your own, you’ll be so well taken care of. It’s not just a great hotel — it’s an experience that’s made all the better by the passion and dedication of the owners and staff. We will...

Read moreMy party of three people checked in on Sunday, Sept 13, 2015, to stay for two nights. We had a few problems and if management would have handled it and not just disregarded us, my review would have been different. The hotel is located close to the bar scene in downtown Scottsdale and even though a few of the reviews I read before booking mentioned this as a major problem, we really didn't think it was. The music was loud but when the hotel room was closed it was fine. We had trouble with both our room keys from the beginning. I went down the first night and asked them to be reprogrammed, and they were, but they worked maybe one time out of ten. The internet connection worked about the same way, and getting our iPhones and laptops connected to their Wi-Fi was a joke. The bathroom door was a slighty open shutter-type and you could hear every single little sound and proved to be embarrassing. The beds had covers folded across the bottom and one had some type of food item spilled on it (hopefully that's what it was). When it was time to sleep, one of the beds was broken and it sloped toward the middle. We were too tired to complain at bedtime so did so in the morning. The breakfast was advertised as "Full" but consisted of a selection of bags laid out containing a bottle of water, a packaged danish and a piece of fruit. There was a sign posted that said this was due to "construction" which we didn't really see. There were many empty chafing dishes line up on tables behind the area where the bags were laid out. There was also a bowl of fruit on the table and a coffee set up that included hot water and tea. The next day I visited a local friend and my niece and her boyfriend headed to Sedona. When they returned in the late afternoon, tired and wet from their trip, their room key no longer worked, even though we had checked them before leaving. They told the front desk, and even though they had the sleeve for the room key with the room number written on it, knew my name and my cell phone number (which BW also had on file), they were RUDELY told that they would not be allowed access and that I could not be called either. I would need to personally return to the hotel to prove to the front desk that they could have access. With this news, my family called me as well as the Best Western corporate office. Corporate called the hotel directly and told them to allow me to call in to prove they could access the room, which I did. When corporate was again called they explained that each Best Western is individually owned, but that they would look into all our problems and call us back. As of 10/2/15, no one has bothered to do so. When I checked out the morning of the 15th, the woman at the desk asked if the bed had been fixed and mentioned something about the incident the day before but said she didn't know the details. I told her that the corporate office would be contacting us. Overall, the hotel stay had a lot to be desired and I would not stay there again. I'm disappointed that no one felt the need to contact us about our problems...
