My wife and I first learned of LDV Winery at the DC Steakhouse in Chandler in 2021. We had stopped in for a meal and ordered the only petite sirah on the wine list. They brought out the 2014 LDV Signature Petite Sirah, which was delicious. Since it was 7 years old, I asked the server if they had to pull it out of a corner and clean the dust from the bottle. They told me it had been delivered to the restaurant only a month earlier. Since it was so tasty, my wife and I decided to seek out a tasting room that carried the LDV wines. We found the winery’s tasting room in downtown Scottsdale right away.
Visiting that tasting room, we found that the wines that were in release were all several years old. Curt and Peggy’s philosophy is to age their wines at the winery and release them when they are ready to drink. From the time of release, the wines will last several more years, if handled with care. Unlike many wineries, LDV wines are made to improve with age and the winery starts the aging by holding on to the wines until they are ready to drink.
We also joined the wine club at the tasting room, for the steady supply of excellent wine and the special events. Most recently, we attended a food and wine pairing event, where Peggy prepared several small plates for the attendees and described the recipe, preparation, and how the paired wine was chosen. The food was delicious and the paired wines went with each dish perfectly!
If you are in the Scottsdale neighborhood, I highly recommend visiting the...
Read moreI experienced the worst customer service to date from Sheryl the front room manager. My fiancé and I while walking around downtown Scottsdale decided to stop by and enjoy a tasting. From the moment we walked in .. the look of distaste on Sheryl’s face was evident .. however .. Grace right? I’ve been a server and although there was only one other table there who knows how the hour prior was. So we decided to stay and enjoy our engagement vacation. After getting our wine and meat and cheese board and witnessing the pleasure in which she attended to other tables I decided .. well let me get the bill and a box and just leave because why stay where you’re not welcome. Sheryl then gives me a dirty Tupperware container .. yes .. a stained dirty Tupperware container box to put my appetizer in which I refused and decided we’re just going to go. She then threatens to call the police on my fiancé and I for eating and refusing to pay. Which is the furthest from the truth. How do you offer a paying customer a stained and used container? I have never in all my years been so disgusted with an establishments service. I called the owner Peggy and she apologized. Attached are some photos of the meal. Very cute and cozy establishment The couple that was seated when we arrived raved about the boards however we didn’t even get a chance to taste it. All in all if you decide to go .. pray you encounter a different...
Read moreToday, my friend and I had the pleasure of immersing ourselves in the Le Nez du Vin experience, affectionately described as “aromatherapy for wine lovers”, at LDV Winery Tasting Room while visiting in Scottsdale and what a deliciously educational afternoon it turned out to be! Hosted in an intimate, welcoming setting, this tasting went far beyond the typical swirl-and-sip. Peggy, one of the owners, was our guide for the day, and her expertise brought the experience to life! With warmth and depth, she walked us through the story of LDV Winery, the unique characteristics of their vineyard, and the complex notes woven into their red and white wine selections. We explored how aroma, flavor, and food pairing can elevate wine from simply good to truly memorable. It was like unlocking a new language of flavor, one sip at a time. This is the kind of experience that lingers in the best way. Whether you’re a wine enthusiast or just beginning your tasting journey, the Le Nez du Vin experience is a beautiful way to deepen your appreciation. Perfect for couples, friends, or a small group looking to share something special and memorable. Highly...
