The restaurant was empty when we arrived. The waitress greeted us immediately and let us choose our table. I wanted to drink a Guinness but this bar does not carry Guinness. The water was delicious and filtered and the lemon wedge seemed fresh. We started with the chips, salsa, and guac appetizer. The menu stated that the chips would be served warm. The chips were cold and stale. The salsa and guac were served in very small to-go condiment cups. My guess is that the salsa was pace and the guac was day old wholly guacamole or another sort of premade style. I am not opposed to being served a premade guacamole, my issue is that it looked and tasted unfresh. The waitress had no knowledge of food allergens in relation to the menu. I am dairy-free and gluten-free so I opted for a burger with no cheese and no bun. The burger came rare which is exactly what I requested. That's impressive as a lot of restaurants will not serve a rare burger. There was cheese all over it which I specifically asked to leave off. The cook screwed that up and the waitress didn't notice it until she saw that I had pulled it off and put it on the appetizer plate. She asked if there was cheese on the burger and I told her there sure was and her only reply was 'sorry about that'. The menu stated that the burger came with grilled onions. There were pickled purple onions on it that had a terrible texture and flavor. The waitress brought a bottle of ketchup to the table. It was noticeably thin leaving the bottle and tasted very watery. The fries were undercooked (mushy in the middle) and had a strange seasoning on them. My husband ordered a chicken quesadilla. He ate 1 of the 3 pieces. We took the rest to go but he threw it away the next day. All he said was that it was terrible. The 3 items totaled $38 which was after a 10% discount for being hotel guests and the chips, salsa & guac were on a happy hour special price. The total before the discounts was around $47 for the 3 food items. We only had water to drink. I would have been happier at In & Out Burger or 5 Guys for about 1/3 of the price. I will never...
Read moreThe food is delicious and the staff are great! Thomas, Roberta, Ed and Debbie are friendly and accommodating. Their supervisors Noah & Tricia are as well. Executive Chef & recently "Chopped" Kenneth Arneson's food is unbelievable from the Prime Rib to the Chicken Wings and the Wedge Salad to the Cabernet Sorbet. Everything tasted great and was presented beautifully. The Bar is fully stocked and usually has 7 Beers on Tap as well as an assortment of bottled choices. There's a dozen TVs always tuned to different sporting events and the atmosphere is inviting & relaxing. It's located on the 4th Floor of the Embassy Suites Scottsdale Resort and easily accessible from Chaparral Road. Enjoy &...
Read moreOrdered the margarita pizza and the chicken alfredo. Pizza was not good and definitely not worth the $17-18 pre tax/tip it costs each. The only thing saving this review from a 2 stars is that our server was nice and timely with the water refills.
The main issue with the pizza is that it was very saucy in addition to having an excess of cheese which tasted cheap and rather rubbery. This extra sauce and cheese resulted in a soggy crust and toppings that would slide off when a slice was picked up. Overall I would say I was disappointed in this pizza especially as this should be a menu item that is easy to get right if not just average...
