Look up Shimogamo in Chandler for a better quality/atmosphere and experience. No way am I comparing this place to Shimogamo fyi.
Take the loot you'd spend here and go to H-Mart!
This place is trash; from my personal experience.
Asian-American greeted by another asian-american; he looked to be the manager heavy set, glasses.
The moment I walked in, he side eyed me up and down then asked in a smug tone. "can i help you?"
I said; two and got ignored. Older couple walked in, whole restaurant empty right before happy hour and sat them immediately.
Ok, fine. I was dressed in jeans and grudgey flannel, not exactly Scottsdale and didn't have my Realtor sport coat on to look fancy!
Still ignoring me; friend finally shows up to meet me and he IMMEDIATELY asks how many?
She's in a flannel also, he makes a double take surprised that I followed her to the table.
Food service; the older couple that walked in before us ordered 75$ worth of food and walked out because it was raw.
Obv they thought it was a non-raw seafood place;
Find out that 'host' is the manager and waitress came over to our table crying because he's making her pay for the tab!!
Oh jeebus; let's do some damage control. I offered to pay their tab and tip so she doesn't go broke from having to work a shift and PAY out of pocket for something not her fault.
Turned a horrible experience around; but will never set foot in Nobu ever again. It's cheap, ordered everything on the menu, seasonal stuff was mediocre, w/ the extra tab; bill was less than 400$ for a sushi experience, walked out wishing we went to...
Read moreEvery time I've been to Nobu Scottsdale I have great food and great service. It is one of my favorite places to eat, and I am very picky with where I eat sushi/fish. The ambiance is modern, simple, and calming- even in the bathroom! Great place to snap a quick mirror pic. The most recent time I went was last week for my birthday dinner with my girl friends. We were a party of 8 and Tyler did amazing keeping up with all of the food and drinks we ordered. He had great drink recommendations and was very informative with the answers to our questions. He remembered who had allergies and dietary restrictions, and was considerate when handling the food. The manager, Stephanie, was kind enough to send me a dessert on the house for my birthday. It couldn't have gone any better, thank you Nobu staff for making my friends and I's night!
For food, I strongly recommend getting the Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna. Every time I order it I swear it gets better and better. If you're looking for something light as a starter, I recommend the Cucumber Sunomono. I provided a picture of what that looks like. The portion size in the photo is for two, but if you order for one the portion is smaller. If you come here and aren't feeling seafood, the Jidori Chicken is the way to go. My go-to is their spicy tuna sushi roll, but their crab is to die for.
For drinks, I always get my Mango Passion, but Tyler surprised me with the Pina Martini and it was very good. I am a sweet drink kind of girl, but their spicy drinks are...
