Mia Pasta Scottsdale — Restaurant in Scottsdale

I come here pretty often because I LOVE the lobster Mac n cheese…and this is the first time I was shocked at the service…I asked for a water cup with my meal (I ordered scallop Alfredo with lobster added) and the guy said they were out of cups (but he just asked me if I wanted a drink just before that) so I was lost for a second And he replied with a NASTY attitude WE DONT HAVE CUPS, so I replied then how would you give me a drink, and he replied with even more attitude I would need to charge you for a cup, we don’t have water cups! So I ordered my food which came incorrectly he gave me shrimp and scallops instead of lobster and scallops and he said “my bad my mind not right, would you like a refund or for me to remake it” and I thought because he had to remake a whole meal I’d get a full refund so I said ok I’ll take a refund…he then replied it will be $2 (but on my receipt the lobster is $3.99) so again I was lost I thought he ment a FULL refund or AT LEAST the charge of the lobster which was $3.99 and so I said but it shows $3.99 and he said for the shrimp (EVEN THOUGH I DIDNT WANT SHRIMP, I ORDERED LOBSTER!) is $1.99 so he was STILL trying to charge me for the shrimp even though it wasn’t what I asked for! So I said Nevermind I’ll just get my plate remade so he looked so disappointed he had to remake my order…THEN I noticed the plate I ORIGNALLY TOOK and sat down with eating (before I realized it didn’t have what I asked for) he takes off the back counter and starts RECOOKING it in one of the pans he uses for the customers up front! I was SHOOK but I guess to each their own (I’m guessing it was for him or someone there but the whole thing left a bad...

Absolutely horrible experience ordering a pasta dish here. First off when I walked up to the counter the two young people working at the front were rough housing around with the guy on the floor. When he got up to take my order neither he or the young lady cooking and handling food with him washed their hands or had gloves on. Against my better judgment I placed my order and before it was ready I suddenly realized I hadn't checked to make absolutely sure there were no mushrooms in it because I'm very allergic to them. Unfortunately there were. Any other restaurant would've remade the dish out of courtesy, but not them. I was asked to pay $8 more money, first because of the cost of the extra pasta, then they switched their story and said it was because of the cost of the meat. Really?!! I just paid over $16 already for a small baggie sized portion of pasta and a couple shrimp/small scallops. I ended up going back to my hotel with basically nothing but a little pasta, sauce and no meat. Otherwise they were planning to give me the one containing mushrooms anyway. I should have realized there was a reason why almost every other food vendor in the court had plenty of customers and this establishment had almost none. As a small business owner you grow by good will towards ALL of your customers and count on happy customers who in turn write good Google reviews, not bad ones. Needless to say, I will never eat there again when I visit Phoenix and I will join a couple of the other reviewers in saying DO...

My sister and I stopped here for a bite after seeing they had lobster! I didn't realize that they made everything to-order, which is wonderful, but it isn't posted anywhere so the wait was unexpected and long. The cashier, who was also a cook, either seemed overworked or didn't want to be there or both which lessened the experience, we weren't given a top for our container (had to go back and ask) and nothing to carry the dish out with or even asked, were only give a single plate (from Walmart) and a one fork.

The food WAS delicious and I would go again for the food alone, but the service wasn't the best and really dampened an otherwise good spot if you want a variety of pasta that feels like a good...
