Ok. Let me be truly honest. I had read very good things about Nonni’s Italian Bistro in Seaside, OR, but arrived with less than high expectations. I can be very snobby about my Italian food. Being from the east coast, you get spoiled with good Italian food and I have found, in general, the PNW lacking good Italian fare. Or, at least the part of the PNW where I live. So, I tend to make my own Italian meals and in my not so humble opinion, you can’t beat my home cooking. I’m a good Italian cook! So, it was with this attitude I entered Nonni’s Bistro. The decor was cozy and rustic. It was certainly nice and warm, on a cold windy coastal day. We started off with the cheesy garlic bread. I was convinced my initial biased opinion was going to be fulfilled. The bread wasn’t house made and had the soft, squishy texture of a roll purchased at the local Safeway bakery. The garlic and cheese were fine and the accompanying marinara was tasty, but overall, the bread was a disappointment. I looked at my husband with a bit of dread, thinking we were in for a disappointing dinner. He ordered the Lasagna and I settled on the Spaghetti Carbonara with Chicken. The portions were substantial! And joy of joys, after our first bites we both looked at each other with much satisfaction. The carbonara was creamy, creamy, creamy as it should be. Lots of crispy pancetta, garlic and Parmesan flavored the perfect Al dente spaghetti. The chicken was lovely. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the lasagna. I took a bite and it was good! Definitely not frozen, as we’ve had from a different local Italian restaurant! He did admit that he liked the carbonara better, but was not dissatisfied with the lasagna. I think the next time I’d like to try the Chef Special Risotto. Be prepared to spend some money. This is not a cheap dinner, but it is worth it. As stated earlier, the portions were huge! We both ended up taking leftovers home, and that is unheard of with my husband around! The waitstaff was nice, as well. Courteous, friendly and polite. We will definitely be back at Nonni’s when I don’t feel like...
Read moreWe recently visited Noni’s Italian Bistro with our four children and had a great overall experience. When we first walked in, we were advised there would be about a 30-minute wait due to the size of our party. However, we were pleasantly surprised when the staff offered us a booth off to the side, near the cooking area. This actually worked out perfectly—our children were able to sit together at one table, and we sat just next to them. While this spot might not suit a romantic evening, for our family, it was a great setup and allowed us to enjoy our meal comfortably.
We sampled a variety of dishes, starting with the heirloom tomato caprese tower, which we found to be fresh and flavorful, though opinions varied slightly. The Italian olive bowl was excellent, offering a great selection of olives. The garlic cheese bread was a big hit with both adults and kids alike—crispy, cheesy, and packed with flavor.
For entrées, we tried the seafood pasta, which was decent, though the fresh in-house linguine was thicker than I personally prefer. Another standout was a custom-made creamy pesto pasta that wasn’t on the menu but was specially created by our attentive waitress, who blended pesto and alfredo sauces beautifully. The kids enjoyed classic spaghetti with meatballs, which they described as “delicious.”
Dessert was a strong finish—while the tiramisu and raspberry panna cotta were good, the salted caramel panna cotta was absolutely phenomenal and by far the highlight of the meal.
The service throughout was outstanding—friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Overall, Noni’s delivered a memorable dining experience for our family. While there were a few minor preferences on dishes, we wouldn’t hesitate to return and recommend...
Read moreBeing a traveler, who loves finding local restaurants to dine at is always exciting. This past weekend I found one that was just amazing. Walking on the other side of the street you can smell the garlic and it just takes/makes you to the door front. As soon as you walk in the door you notice that it’s not overly decorated, when they say “Bistro” it is really a Bistro. The ambiance is perfect, the music isn’t too loud to where you cant hear your own voice. The service is amazing, the main server is there at your table but than you have multiple other constantly checking on your table, checking your water, asking if you want more fresh bread, etc…. but never at the wrong time like when your taking a bite of food and cant talk.. “lol”. Now to the food, I mentioned the fresh warm bread… That was just delicious, it was served with a small thing of oil. We also ordered the Fontina Stuffed Meatball with Marinara for our appetizer. Remember that garlic smell I was telling you about, there was such a delicious amount of garlic in the marinara it was amazing. I myself ordered the Linguini Alfredo with Chicken and my girlfriend ordered the Chicken Picatta. Both dishes I just was lost for words. The pasta is so fresh, cooked perfectly al dente so the sauce doesn’t make them soggy/mushy eventually, it was cheesy, creamy. It was my girlfriend’s birthday and they offered a desert, she chose the Tiramisu. We were so full from dinner we had to get that to go. For anyone visiting Seaside I would HIGHLY recommend dining at Nonnis. I definitely will dine there again when...
